@OPSJono@Cajs@VerticalDiscussions You were right about the RMA service from Corsair. I Sent them my broken PSU ( just the PSU, no cables or anything) on friday the 19th. I forgot to request the express RMA service so I didn't expect them to send me a replacement within a week or 2. However, 3 business days later (today) a package from Corsair was delivered to my house. In it was a brand new AX860i sealed in retail box (including cables etc.)! Probably one of the, if not the best, RMA service out there.
I don't have time to try it in the PC today, so I'm going to try it tomorrow. I'll let you know if it works.

Cajs got a reaction from RappyPop in Need set-up Critique please!
I have the EVGA 980 TI Superclocked, and it runs fine on a Corsair RM 650W PSU.

the GTX in combo with the 6700 should have NO problem with running games in 1080p whatsoever. All good choices.

Cajs reacted to Syryll in Network layout showoff
Basically, I have a pact with my neighbor. He provides me with 10/1 that would otherwise go unused, save for a few iPhones, and I provide him with tech support when he needs it. It's not the greatest thing, but it gets the job done.
The laptop is there solely to bridge the Alfa to wan on my WNR834, which is DMZ'd from neighbor's router and does all my routing, as well as provides me with my own private WiFI network. The WRT54G is the "visitor" AP that I can just switch off. NAS is an old netbook with a 1TB HDD running FreeNAS. Serves all my media, which is all I use it for.

Cajs got a reaction from Mnive in Validating if windows 10 key is legit
I just asked a Microsoft SRA contact. They don't believe there are any real ways to tell without the OS doing it.

Cajs reacted to QueenDemetria in Storage is crazy
Trust me, some day that kind of storage will be needed. I remember when 10GB HDD's were crazy, the 40GB, then 160GB, then 500GB... lol

Cajs reacted to VerticalDiscussions in 500$ Workstation
I really dont think its possible. For what he needs, the cpu is already 300$, so unless he ditches 1200$, this wont be getting on its track, with new parts. In Europe tough, this would be a lot harder to build , import taxes and vats sux

Corsair's RMA service is very good. Have you tried getting a replacement?

Well that's fair enough. Building it yourself isn't for everyone.
-
Cajs got a reaction from SmilesRising in Friends PC
It would be worth checking if buying the parts individually and building it yourself is cheaper. £800 (roughly 10,000 SEK) is a lot of money to play with, might be worth doing some research

i think he´s wasting money.. i built my system for almost the same price as the one he´s getting..

Computer psus should just turn off in case of a short circuit on the low voltage side, and certainly not trip your breaker.
