FPS won't be much difference from 1080Ti you are paying premium for New Ray Tracing

not just CPU also ram speeds DDR4 2400 vs DDR4 4000+ ram 20 fps+ difference
 
 

why wouldn't it be? if look at previous launch prices around $699

can get GTX 660Ti or 670 for around $70 will be able to play games at med settings with decent FPS but will need 500w+ power supply

FTW uses large custom PCB the founders edition is SC cards people will want more for FTW coolers

sounds like crappy power supply should upgrade it before it fries the PC

can get 1440p 144hz monitors from monoprice for around $250 each but 1060 wouldn't hit high fps in games looks like need upgrade GPU soon

Would just get GTX 1170 if think 1180 will bottleneck will be in $400-500 range and have extra features like ray tracing which 1080Ti doesn't support.

Asus Strix costs much as Gigabyte Xtreme cards but gigabyte xtreme care is 4 year warranty vs 3 year if you register it within first 30 days or you just get 3 year warranty.

All comes down to silicon lottery. i seen founders edition cards faster then ACX 3.0 cards.

Your best bet is the cheapest. They all perform the same honestly in terms of overclocking. 

1070. IIRC it has the same performance as the 980ti.

That is why you always have backup graphics card that is decent enough to play games. GTX 1080 is going to cost you $699 dollars at launch they are only releasing the Founders Edition cards at launch to make the extra $100 dollars per card you won't see MSRP cards for months just FYI.
