  1. I totally agree with the part "wtf does he mean with stealing his idea. it's just a review". You can't just blame someone and try to get a way with it. I think he is trying to send some kind of a message. Elric never appeared on Linus Tech Tips and for a long time, he may have wanted to. But Linus is too clever to introduce characters such as this. That said, if Elric did have the correct attitude, personality and the willingness, Linus would have made a project (or projects) with him a long time ago. He collaborated with everyone except him. We should really wonder why.
  2. Sure man, I don't think Linus would do such a thing anyway. He doesn't need it and he is not that kind of a person. I just feel Elric is going mad and jealous.
  3. Elric Phares acccuses Linus for stealing his soundcard idea/project what the hell. At: 5.20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq56pflg90Q
  4. Even the Q9400 is capable of playing current games with GTX 960 without a problem with medium to high settings. How could you possibly say neither.
  5. No upgrade. Think of it that you will keep it for 10 years. For current and future.
  6. i5-750 + GTX 960 vs. i7-4790 + R7 265 Which system would you get? Just for gaming.
  7. Final update: the HDMI is also dead. It does not boot from another system. Only the VGA port boots *DVI to VGA of course. Other than that, it does not work. I am sending it back. One final thing, a guy from EVGA team told me to flash the bios. Would it change anything? And how can I flash it if I can't get into the OS?
  8. Is there anyway of knowing if he overclocked the card or not? Does Windows event viewer or the GPU's bios store such information?
  9. I did try the onboard it does work fine. The monitor is new. I tried it on another system I am formatting it now, I think it looks the same. But it just looks washed out colors. HDMI connection does not work by the way. ONLY DVI or DVI to VGA works.
  10. I have built a new system for my friend: i5-4460 H97M-G43 600W CoolerMaster PSU 8GB single slot 1333MHz ram EVGA GTX 970 I hasn't been more than 2 weeks I can say. He used it and had no problems with it. But today here is the scenario: Can anyone know why this is happening? Some people said the GPU is gone.
  11. I think we have solved the issue: Thanks to Nvidia, the "nvstreamsvc.exe" in the background is attempting (constantly) to connect to a shield device. I disabled that. No more crashes so far. Fingers crossed but time will tell. Here is the source of the issue: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/573811/geforce-drivers/nvidia-streamer-service-may-be-freezing-your-pc/1/
  12. Thanks I will tell my friend to do that. I will get the results here quickly. I don't know how to analyze it though...Let's see what they are.
  13. I have had a custom built for my friend recently: i5-4590 8x2= 16GB Kingston 1600MHz CL9 memory MSI H97M-G43 MB EVGA GTX 980 Corsair VS 650W 80+ PSU Zalman Z11 Plus 1TB Toshiba HDD Sandisk 128GB Ultra SSD I had two instances of computer freezing. I couldn't even reset the system. I had to hold the power button to shut down and then restart again. I checked the minidump file from C:\Windows\Minidump but couldn't find anything. Is there any way I can find the error that caused the freezing of the PC? Any debugging options that I can use? I really don't know how to analyze minidump files but I couldn't see any being created. Any suggestions as to what I should do to find out the error causing this? Notes: The bios is up to date. Windows is newly installed. Games are running from D:\ Chipset, GPU, sound, etc. drivers are all up to date. Windows is up to date. Windows Memory Diagnostic Test is done, no errors. ***Edit The freezing usually occurs when playing GTA V online. OP: Windows 8.1 Pro x64
