  1. Hi everyone, I recently just got the new MacBook Pro (Don't worry, still got my Windows rig as a daily driver as well ) due to my last laptop failing. I lost ALL of my data on my last laptop with no chance of backing it up which was a huuuuge bummer since I'm in my last year of university. With that said, I want to take the precautions and buy an external drive to backup my data on. Whilst looking at drives, I stumbled upon this one and had a couple questions... 1. If I had the 512GB drive, would I be able to backup my entire laptop (which is only 256GB) AND store other files on the drive outside of the laptop backup? (IE: Movies, Pictures, etc. that aren't locally stored on my mac) 2. Are external SSD's really any reliable when it comes to using for backups? I'd only be backing up at most once a week or every few days. I really looked at this one because of the transfer speed advantage over USB-C. 3. Would the drive listed above, or the Samsung T5 for example, be backward compatible with my Windows rig that just has good old USB 3.0? Any and all answers are appreciated! Thanks!
  2. Ill be driving from Michigan to Florida, assuming the highways aren't pothole ridden, it should be fine as long as it is wedged between seats and other things?
  3. If i have a graphics card (GTX 970 from ASUS) and a Hyper 212 attached, will those risk breaking from all the shaking?
  4. Hello everyone, I am moving across the states and I have a desktop computer that I plan on bringing with me. I don't plan on shipping the computer but bringing it in my car with me. Is there anything I should do with the hardware before moving? The drive is around 24 hours.
  5. Hello everyone, I just made the switch to a new laptop and have a Thunderbolt 3 port on board. Woo! With that, I was looking for suggestions for a dongle to get that has some of these characteristics; 1. USB A ports (2 at least) 2. HDMI 3. SD Card Reader All other I/O included is definitely not a bad thing, but I really am looking for something that WORKS and is sturdy. Please let me know your suggestions and if you have used said product before. Thanks!
  6. Been looking at the 13 inch for quite some time. Would the Thunderbolt ports be compatible with something like the razer core, so if I had a monitor and gpu at my desk (example, not going to run a graphics card out of this guy) would they run at the full rated Thunderbolt 3 speed? Any better Thunderbolt 3 laptops out there in the price range of 1050? Thanks!
  7. Hey guys, So my little brother is trying to play minecraft on his machine and for some reason it lags incredibly bad, whilst he can somehow play League of Legends at 60fps no problem. His laptops running a Core i5, 8GB ram, intel graphics, ssd. The machine is only 6 months old. Any suggestions on how to fix this for him? Thanks
  8. Dell is looking like a very solid choice right now. Again, any machine is a huge upgrade and that looks like a good candidate. Also, Mac's are out of the picture, he doesn't want to learn a new OS. Thanks again everyone!
  9. Hi everyone, My roommate is a journalism student at university and is in need of a new laptop that he can use to edit video on Adobe Premiere. He's already thrown Mac out of the picture because he has around a $900 budget, but he could spend a little more if need be. Anything is also an upgrade since hes rocking a windows vista machine with a dual core amd chip in it (plus you can hear the hard drive cranking its last bit of life out) Any suggestions are appreciated! If you approve of one over another please enlighten me with your input! Thanks!

    Headphone Amp?

i'm currently using Audioquest Nighthawks and occasionally B&W P5's and i'd be willing to spend anywhere in the 100-300$ range

    Headphone Amp?

What are some good money/performance headphone amps? I currently use a Dragonfly DAC but i'm looking for something beefier. Also, unsure if these are used in the same sense, but i've seen people use headphone amps with a guitar and amp? (might be something else, not completely sure) but any recommendations that can use both headphones and for my guitar would be ideal :-)
  12. Plugging into the router isnt much of an option for me (too far away and would leave a lovely cable strung all over the place) and for a wireless PCiE card, what is the fast standard I can get? 802.11AC correct?
  13. Hi friends! So i've been using ethernet over power for the past year or so and it is honestly pretty disappointing in our house. The power lines in our house are no doubt old, and the signal comes and goes pretty periodically. Not to mention, I get like 5 mb's download speed over EoP where as on my iPhone I get around 70 mb's down... pretty nuts. Anyway, we use an Airport Extreme in our house (the newest model) and there isn't much interference in our place when considering walls and what not. I'm using a P8Z77-V Deluxe (old, right?) running Win10 Pro, and basically what i'm getting at is what would be my best bet for pretty consistent signal strength, and faster speeds? I play LoL pretty casually as well as other games like CSGO, so a low, steady ping is pretty important to me to. What would be my best bet to fix this speed and connectivity issue? I'm not ballin' on a budget, but I am in college and have this problem at home, as well as my place at school where we use EoP as well, so I'd really like to get a wireless solution to fix this. Thank you in advance! Jack
  14. hi everyone, I've had my G700 for about a year now, and the battery life is pretty pathetic. with the lowest polling rate and only 600 dpi, I get a low battery warning after a game or two of LoL. Does anyone else have this issue? I've replaced the rechargeable battery with an exact duplicate of the one it came with.
  15. Hi everyone So randomly like every 3-6 hours, my computer will drop its network, I can click troubleshoot and it will say that my computer is missing one or more protocols and that i can fix it as an administrator. This fix works every so often, but otherwise i need to go in and disable it and then re-enable it, which doesn't seem like much, but its pretty frustrating as its happened 3 times now when i'm taking online assignments for my classes at my university. Does anyone else have this issue? Specs can be provided if necessary.
