  1. What GPU do you have at the moment?
  2. I'm not sure one is needed, but it's just because I've had mine for around 4-5 years, and maybe it's a good idea to upgrade? My specs are in my signature. Thanks in advance!

    iperf issue

Yeah to be fair. You do mention using iPerf3 in your first post, but later on you change it to iPerf2?

Can you pingteh server from the PC you are trying to iPerf from?
  5. Okay. Yeah, it's a solid choice, as solid as choices can go for selecting motherboards. Meets the requirements.
  6. Depends what you need it for really.
  7. Has he tried changing his refresh rate?
  8. Yes, but he still needs to try another display, and a different connection. Ofcourse the issue wouldn't occur with general PC usage as there is no strain on the GPU.
  9. I think they are saying that you should try another connection from the card to the monitor so see if the issue persists e.g. VGA, Display Port, DVI Also, and this may sound dumb but, are you sure your friend has connected to the card, and not the motherboard? Possible mistake to make Also trying another monitor is an option, gotta rule out the possibilities.
  10. The Phanteks Enthoo Pro Mid Tower Case would work with what you're looking for, the one I have linked comes in at around £70 exc VAT. I believe it fits 6, 3.5" and 7, 2.5". It also fits an ATX MOBO and has a 5 year warranty (because that's always nice). The link will have more information. Hope this help! https://www.ebuyer.com/819527-phanteks-enthoo-pro-mid-tower-case-with-window-ph-es614p-bk?fo_c=951&fo_k=ef57fc7fdec9d42d0894264cf4d538dc&fo_s=webgains&wgu=267255_162949_15579194546634_891afcee43&wgexpiry=1565695454&utm_source=webgains&utm_siteid=162949

Maybe your firewall is blocking the connection?
  12. I had a G502 Spectrum which I loved, but I snapped the left click off after about 2 years (My fault, I am an aggressive clicker). So I replaced it with the HERO. It's just the more up-to date version of the Spectrum. New Logo, new sensor. I'm pretty sure they're about the same price. There's no reason to get a Spectrum over the HERO, if it's one over the other get the HERO. If you already had a Spectrum there wouldn't be a need to upgrade.
  13. Personally, I would upgrade the CPU instead of the GPU. Your card is more reliable for the future than your CPU is. Although, if you were to upgrade your CPU, I see that someone suggested a 7700k, and even though I agree that would be a good choice, those have been discontinued, so if you were to find one, you'd probably end up buying it for the same price as an 8700k which is like £350. I would recommend you get an i7-8700 which would be like £290. But, once again, you would have to upgrade the MOBO to one that supports the new CPU. I'm not very 'pro AMD' but that's just because I don't invest time to learn about them. But if you were to go AMD, you would also have to buy another MOBO. Bottom line: If you upgrade your CPU, AMD or otherwise, you're going to have to get another motherboard, this will probably cost you more, but you will be future-proofed WHEREAS if you upgrade your GPU to something like a RTX 2070 you're going to notice your PC being slow in other areas. But yes, if you want results now, an RTX 2070 would be the route to go down. PERSONALLY, I'd get a new CPU, but that's just me. Hope this helped.

  15. Thanks man, that's super useful!
  16. I need help with a build. The budget is around £700. Must have at least: 4GB of VRAM 8GB of RAM Quad Core w/ min 2.4 core clock 1080p Monitor It is for some CAD design, so if you have any other suggestions that would be great Pre built builds are acceptable. Thanks
  17. I've recently got a new job with gives me some disposable income and I think I wanna upgrade my PC. Below is my current build, and if anyone can give me any advice on what I should change/add/takeway, that would be great. My budget is around £500 but I'm not desperate to spend it all. 18. Okay, thank you for you help.
  19. Yeah this sounds like a good idea. Will have to wait until morning though as it's 02:22am here and there isn't really any good lighting to see.
  20. There were kinda sparks when I turned it on.
  21. About 20 months, give or take.
  22. 980Ti and a i7 6700, nothing other than my mic, keyboard and mouse. Yeah, they most certainly don't look like that.
  23. How do I check if there was a shortage? Nothing looks out of the ordinary.
