I think this goes here? Anyway, my friend is in dire need of a CPU and MOBO, and he asked if I have anything laying around and I have an i7 6700 laying around with a motherboard to go with it. I'm a nice friend (I'd like to think) but I'm not willing to just give it away, what do you think would be a fair price to ask for it? Thanks in advance!

Geez, I had this issue back when Win10 first came out. None of the fixes out at the time helped me, all I could do was re-install windows.

hdd Does my old harddrive affect performance of system?
Ardu replied to MatthiasLundgaard's topic in Troubleshooting
If you go to 'Device Manager' and then 'Disk Drives' it should have then listen there, and one should be called 'KINGSTON' followed by some numbers or something, that's what model it is. -
Oh I misunderstood, thought you meant you were having PC connection issues.
-
Maybe try updating drivers, pretty default answer I know, but possible.
-
As in what type of connector is it, that the monitor likes hooks onto? If no, then I guess I've never realised there were any type of connections of the stand sorry
-
Like, the display connectors? Or the ones that make the monitors USB's work

Well because you've got your games on a separate drive, I'd be led to believe that could also be the problem, but it does sound like it's your OS' drive as that would also have an effect on your games. I think, if it's that much of a hindrance to your machine, you might be best off saving all of your documents (to a cloud or USB or something) and resetting your PC fully. And then reinstalling all of your stuff. I know this is a hassle, but if the problem is still there after doing this, it kinda finds the solution to your problem, which would probably be to load your OS onto a different drive, or buy a new drive as well. BUT FIRST BEFORE DOING ANY OF THIS, UPDATE YOUR SSD' DRIVERS! https://www.kingston.com/en/support/technical/category/ssd Find which one is yours from here! -

Ah I see. Do you have any issues with general windows? So like exploring files, browsing the web, watching videos video Netflix, YouTube etc? -

I assume you mean that you selected save all files, like your documents and stuff when you performed your new install? If this is the case that shouldn't be a reason for performance issues. What is it that you're having issues with exactly? Like what are you doing when the freezes occur? -

I've always been in the same boat, but recently I thought I'd go on a mass updating spree, and I updated at least 5 things through it. -

Could try going to 'Device Manager' and right clinking on your drive and selecting 'Update Driver'? Failing that, go to the manufacturers website. -
Yeah, I'd definitely give that card the 'ol Forest Whittaker eye hahaha
-
You could always try and RMA your GPU? So they'll send you another one, it does sound like it's died to me.
-
In addition to what the above person said, I think you should focus on a CPU before GPU, but if you had your heart set on a 2060 down the line, I think maybe a Ryzen 5 2600 may be a good route. I dunno where you're from but it's only like £130 in the UK.
-
Seen this before, if you have a spare GPU laying around maybe give that a try and see if your PC detects that card?
-
Only having intakes would blatantly increase you temps, yeah. Maybe fix your fans, and see if you have the same problem?
