Woah that night theme is so... epic. As soon as you switch it on it's like a feeling of comfortability falls over you and yours eyes strain less. White websites to me are like when all computer towers were beige for years and then someone was like.... this is stupid let's try black.

I'll give that keyboard a look, my problem is I have never used a mech keyboard before so I know nothing about how the switches feel

Anyone know which rads 3 x 140 and 4 x 120 have aluminium fins? I am getting that purely because of fin strength, I mod and mess around a lot and the fins get bent if they are copper haha

Get a Corsair K70 RGB keyboard. As an owner I have nothing bad to say about it. Awesome build quality and nice switches (mines are Cherry MX Reds).

Which UX501, the FHD model has a terrible TN screen otherwise yeah Asus is way better but if your considering a yoga pro then you clearly dont need the performance, the Yoga Pro is core M which basicly makes it a really expensive tablet (a flimsy one at that), if you want light maybe have a look at the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 carbon, build much better & has a proper CPU

Here's a quick sneak peek of the card installed in the case. Due to the card being so long and heavy I will come up with some sort of support to stop the sagging.

Here's another update for the build.

I took my Razer Blackwidow keyboard and plasti-dipped it white. The top right of the keyboard has some illuminations that come through the black like caps lock and gaming mode logos so I wanted to still be able to see those so I taped that area off. I didn't get very clean tape lines so it didn't turn out as good as I would have liked it to. I actually took the keyboard apart to make the dipping easier. I tried it first by just removing the keys and taping off the switches but that didn't turn out too good so I ripped it all off and did it again. Here are some step by step photos of the process and the outcome.
    1. remove 2 little black tabs on back.

    2. remove the 4 rubber feet at the corners to reveal 4 screws.

    3. pry open around the edges of the front cover from the back of the keyboard on the sides and the front edge then remove.
    4. use a metal hanger and put one end into screw hole on back of cover to hold in place for painting.

I did about 3 light coats of the plasti-dip followed by a thicker 4th coat. I had about 25 minutes between coats for drying. If you are going to be removing any tape to try and get nice lines then you must remove the tape after your final coat and when it is still wet or else the plasti-dip will start to peel off when you try to remove the tape.
Here are some pics of the finished project. You can see the top right area where I taped off and the lines are not sharp and it started to peel a little at the bottom but that is hidden by the keys.

So like I said, I wasn't overall happy with the way it turned out so I might actually have the top cover of the keyboard hydro dipped an urban camo pattern so it goes with the overall theme better. There is a shop not to far from me that does hydro dipping. This will have to do for now though.
Also the new GALAX 980Ti Hall of Game card gets here on Tuesday. I'll post pics soon.

Probably yes, but I wanted some red accents to the build that go together with the red led strip outside the case. Anyways the color of the coolant is pretty easy to change when draining the loop every six months.
Gonna do some changes in the future for sure. This was my first water cooling build so I wanted to keep it very simple. That explains the pump/res combo.
    But thanks for the comment!

Hey everyone....  I am new to this forum but have been a Linus Tech Tips Youtube follower for a long time.  I just recently built a new computer for a friend and I got that itch again.  Its been a while since I have built a system for myself.  So this will be a many part series over the next month or two as I will not have everything at the very beginning but I do have most of the components.

    This is project Storm Shadow............

This will start as an air cooled rig just so I can get it up and running then I'll install a custom water cooled loop. I am only doing that because I am currently using my HTPC to do this build log and its not the most convenient way of doing things like this.

Here is what the components will look like.....

Case: White NZXT Noctis 450  - PURCHASED
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k  - PURCHASED
    CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX
Motherboard: Asus x79 Sabertooth Mark S  - PURCHASED
Video Card: Galax 980Ti HOF - PURCHASED
    Memory: Avexir Core Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3@2400MHz(to match the motherboard)  - PURCHASED
    SSD: 2 Samsung EVO 850 120GB in Raid 0  - PURCHASED
    HDD: WD 2TB Green  -PURCHASED
PSU: NZXT HALE90 V2 Series 850W Modular PSU  -PURCHASED
FANS: Bitfenix Spectre Pro White 140mm fans  -PURCHASED
KEYBOARD: Razer Black Widow Chroma  (Painted White)  -PURCHASED
    MOUSE: Razer Taipan (White)  -PURCHASED

There will be some led modding and some painting and some vinyl stuff as well.
    Hope you guys enjoy.

    Here is the case.
    Motherboard with the RAM installed
    Here is the RAM

    Here is the PSU

Right now I have removed the front top panels and also removed the black mesh from each of those panels.
I plan on painting a white/gray camo pattern on the black mesh that will be visible on those panels.

    Here is everything disassembled

    I will update soon.

Yeah, I totally get what you're saying.
I have an EVGA GTX760 and I found the cooler on that is louder than I think it should be, mainly because the minimum fan speed, even at idle, is 43% and this could not be lowered even manually turning it down with various GPU controlling software.
Even still, I think the fans on it are loud at any speed so when I was looking for a new graphics card I put EVGA a few rungs down in the manufacturer order I was interested in buying from due to the dissatisfaction I had with the cooler on the GTX760.

A quick research showed me that amd is a little faster, but as always, NVIDIA is cooler.

    Hello forum!

The case arrived a couple of days ago so in theory I can start the water cooling assembly

Anyways, I´ve been attending to several national swimming competitions during these two weeks, so I have not had so much time
to do the project. Last swimming events are held this weekend, and after that I will fully focus on my build.

Let me know what you guys think this far!
    See you soon!

    Hello!

Received the radiator today, and it´s amazing!  The white color is spot on.

Still waiting for the case to arrive, can´t wait to start building!

Cooler Master found me to be using an older CM PSU as the power source for my LEDs,
Motor & other none main PSU dependant parts, so kindly offered me a nice new G750M

This will be more than enough for my setup & can even act as a power source for a 3nd/4th GPU
should I add them later down the road.

so the main PC parts are running on the V1200 & extras run from the G750M.
I also got my hands on some other CM parts that I plan to breakdown & use on the desk

Fitted the RAD covers & added some independent RGB lighting to them

Both the PSU's are going under the right side of the desk on the top shelf,
this is so they have some fresh air & dont add to the temps inside the main part
    of the desk,
I can also get to them more easily should I need.

Installed the main power on the back wall under the desk in the center, this is also so I can get to it easily.

Breaking down some of the PSU housings so I can use the badges on the RAD covers

just a quick test fit to see how they looked so not stuck on 100% correct, decided to blackout the outer circles

    Think they look better now

in this pic you can see some of the internal panels have been covered with black leather (flux)
have never seen anyone do this before so thought it would make a nice change
still lots more to be done to the panels though.

Started to mod the 2nd Phobya Fan Controller, removing the white print, changing from blue to red LED & adding a new logo.

Still loads more to do, but with some luck I hope to have this completed within the next 4 to 5 weeks or maybe sooner

Final update for today & im happy to report Iv bent my 1st hard tube with success

Using 16mm Alphacool hard tubing with the 16mm Alpha fittings in black for this build, not as easy has the rubber im use to
but should look a lot cleaner

heres my 1st bend, used my motorbike internal gloves as i forgot to buy some
    heat gloves

and heres a quick look at the internal setup work thats started, going to be wrapped with leather & carbon for sure.

Now i have the fan covers & logos I started to add the CM Silencio FP 120 fans to the RADs

also been working on covering the side compartment with the leather

most of the above is still work in progress, should be able to show more detail when i get hold of a better camera
thats all for today, hope you like it so far?

This kind of gives me pressure on my own upcoming custom loop!
And btw, the water cooled gpu alone gives a lot of advantage in terms of overclocking.
