    sometimes all it takes for inclusivity to actually happen is;
    - someone needs to realise the problem exists
    - that someone needs to be willing to spend an afternoon to think about a solution

    the unfortunate thing is that
    - people very often refuse to realise problems may exist for people other than themselves.
    - people often dont get past stating "something should be done about this" before going on about their day.

GeekPower0 got a reaction from Taf the Ghost in 23andMe Data Breach is worst than previously stated
UPDATE: 23andMe confirmed that health reports and raw genotype data were stolen

    Via BleepingComputer.com

In addition to the health and genotype data, if users used the DNA Relatives feature then attackers may have scraped ancestry reports and profile data of other 23andMe users that matched.

    My thoughts:
No matter how you feel about platforms like 23andMe, I think all platforms that handle health data need to require users to use secure MFA.

@CPotter Linus talks all the time on the WAN show that you guys don't take any sponsorship money from supplement companies, but the latest Mac Address is sponsored by Ritual Supplements. Did someone screw up or is this not the policy any more? Seems pretty shady.

GeekPower0 got a reaction from Lurick in LMG Sponsor Complaints
LMG has done external media production in the past, from ads, to internal trainings (Intel Retail IIRC), and other white label content. Latest I remember seeing was some unboxing videos for Cisco:

I have not been anyone complain about it yet: IIRC Linus said he was against supplements as sponsors, yet the last Mac address has Ritual vitamins stuff.

I’ve tried signing up for Privacy a while back after hearing about it through an LTT spot. Unfortunately, after registering I was told my account was under review. After inquiring if there was additional info needed, I was told that upon review my account was being deactivated. The same email said they would give no explanation for why this was the case. The support experience behind this was terrible, as I was unable to provide or gather any information regarding this.

This is why I like the “Option B” from the survey for single product links. I think the Floatplane crew could put together something amazing for this.

GeekPower0 reacted to Needfuldoer in Linus Tech Tips Product Links Survey
I really like the idea of a "project kit" landing page that allows for links to multiple vendors. I'll shop around between Amazon, Adorama, B&H, and Micro Center for the best price when I'm shopping for new PC parts (which I admit isn't very often). It's also a more visually interesting option than a pile of text links under the video, which eyeballs just slide right off of.

Project pages also present an opportunity to cross-promote other LMG properties. Each product with an LTT review, a Short Circuit unbox, or (eventually) Labs analysis could have a link to that content underneath it. This would have to be handled carefully though, especially if the product in question has earned some criticism. The purely-for-entertainment videos shouldn't go on a product page, but videos like Anthony's recent review of the RTX 3050 are a perfect fit. if a video is a paid product showcase, that should also be made clear if it gets linked on a project page. Even lttstoredotcom can get in on it with a perennial sidebar ad for the screwdriver.

Apparently they pushed it out through a server-side update, which is also a no-no.
Already is a lawsuit, and TBH I doubt it matters. There's already a lot of legal precedent for the App Store, and I doubt this will have any real impact on the ongoing investigations, especially as there's nothing substantially novel here (if anything, Epic blatantly circumventing multiple rules probably is harmful to their quest.

GeekPower0 reacted to JackHadrill in Nvidia Said We Couldn't Game On This...
Just to put people's minds at rest... you CAN modify the drivers yourself. The only two files which need to be modified are `nv_dispi.inf` and `nvaci.inf`, and it should be possible to continue to do this moving forward provided Nvidia don't throw in any extra restrictions. Furthermore, adding support for the P104-100 and P102-100 is also fairly trivial.

In each of the attached diffs, the original is on the left and the modified version is on the right. If there's enough demand, I'll write a nice script so people can run this on the fly, but to be honest editing manually with either a hex editor or nice text editor should suffice!

    Hope this helps someone!

Sadly payday isn't for another week or so and grabbing one of these in the UK seems to be a lot of hassle. ?

It states that NewEgg learned of the breach on September 18th and reported it to customers on September 19th. Since then they have learned on October 15th that payment card information may have been accessed.

    Yes, it was.

    Are you for real?
It is NOT respectful to walk up to a corpse, pose for photos, laugh and joke about it, or any of the other stuff he did.

This is not some fucking live broadcast. Yes, vloggers would record themselves going there. Only someone fucked in the head would actually film themselves pose and joke next to a corpse, then edit the video and make the conscious decision to upload for the world to see.

Are you for real? Yeah, what a fucking hero he is. Everyone should praise Logan!

What the fuck do you expect them to do? Carry the corpse with them? If you think this is showing respect then I seriously fear for your future.
