  1. 4770k @ 5.0Ghz is rare, quite rare, most struggle with 4.6Ghz 2600k/2700k @ 5.0Ghz+ is rather easy, I've had roughly 8 x 2600k/2700k that were able to clock 5.0Ghz with average volts. Personally the only benefit I've gained with Ivy/Haswell is the ability to delid to at least attempt to manage the heat.
  2. 2600k is still Intel's best processor of the last 5 years. Ivy/Haswell has got nothing on Sandy. I own the 3770k/4770k and i still return to my 5.4Ghz 2600k
  3. Get over to the Unigine Valley thread located in my sig and grab top spot from me
  4. Well my #1 Scenario was rather close to the mark, the 6GB VRAM is still viable down the track. I nailed the rest
  5. EVGA Classified is able to push well above Nvidia voltage restrictions, you shouldn't have an issue at all. Which BIOS are you using for your 780?
  6. Polished Capacitors Something that irritates me with Gigabyte motherboards, those silly blue capacitors, well a little 99% Alcohol solved that issue. Can't have a Titanium build with blue caps Ok that's enough of the motherboard, it's not that special
  7. Updated Yeah my Titan is a nice overclocker considering it's currently running on Air. Going on water tomorrow, so hopefully pushing 1350Mhz. Good to see a 290x on the charts although
  8. I'll spend whatever is required. I won't settle for performance alone.
  9. How much do you overclock? If you're a heavy bencher then i would 100% upgrade. Fact is a GTX 780 cannot match a similar clocked 780 TI with 2880 Cores. 780 TI Classified is going to be an amazing card.
  10. Yeah i think it was really the first time for quite a while where the consumer saw massive performance improvements at a great price point. Good to have you on board
  11. Gigabyte Z68X UD4-B3 I've had this motherboard for some time now, clearly as this is one of the very first Sandy Bridge motherboards. I've chosen Sandy Bridge and particularly this motherboard due to it's reliability, My current 2600k has been a solid processor, I've had countless other newer generation processors and nothing comes close to my experience with Sandy Bridge. I wouldn't say the UD4 is the most appealing nor high end motherboard even for a Z68 Chipset, although at the time i was on a budget and this was my first choice, it's seen me through the years unscathed. I'm still undecided how i want to proceed with this log, considering taking off the UD4 heat-sinks and giving them a nice paint job.
  12. Yes i intend to get rid of the junk that i won't be using, eg USB, Firewire, COMS. I'll be stripping this motherboard down to it's bare minimum. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/17364-project-akula-dimastech-bench-watercooled-tri-gtx-680/ http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/56428-project-mercury-caselabs-s3-watercooled-gtx-titan/ I got something special planned, don't worry It won't be boring Thanks bud, yeah i love the name I stated why, in the first paragraph  Recycling old components.

May seem strange to start a new project when my previous Mercury build-log is not complete, but i assure you that log is coming to an end. Several months ago i bought myself the Fractal Design Mini, have to say it suited my own personality perfectly, simple, sleek and small. I've never been a person to throw colors at a build, normally resorting to dull colors, blacks greys and whites with a splash of color but for this particular log i feel like stepping outside the box a little. I'm still going over this log in my head so changes to the components and design will fluctuate. A large portion of the components within the log will be of an older generation, i intend to use my leftover components rather than sell them. Please note this is not going to be a build-log where you should expect to see the highest end components, some of my choices may seem odd or unusual but I'm trying to keep my wallet intact throughout this log as much as possible. Vision & Color Scheme I'm still tossing up how i want to plan this build, i have plenty of water-cooling components that can be salvaged for this build and i have plenty of ideas for Air Cooling. Well, I've made my decision, Water is it. I have so much spare water-cooling components it just seemed right, not to mention i enjoy the silence you get from water-cooling. I've decided to integrate Aqua into this build, aside from the typical Grey & Blacks i believe the Aqua element will provide a nice bold & striking contrast color, especially in the EK Solid Tubing. I have limited time throughout the week up until Christmas, so time spent on this build will be minimal. I'm looking forward to creating a build that can inspire others to reuse components all the while creating something beautiful. Stay tuned.
  14. I strongly considered the SM8 for my next case, I'm tossing up between the SM8 and the SM5, I guess I'll make that decision closer to the build date. Caselabs are expensive, but the quality is fantastic.
  15. Yeah i think i Jinxed myself ahah I can see where the leak was caused, and why it was caused. I believe the pressure from the top of the Reservoir put unwanted pressure on the O-Rings, which has caused them to flatten in the groove, which in turn caused the leak. Might explain why Bitspower released a V2 Variant ._. Well regardless, the build will be completed this Friday
  16. The only Bitspower product in my entire loop is the 150ml Upgrade Top & D5 V2 Mod Top. And guess what? It leaks. Not just a little, but a free flowing leak. Shitty O-Ring's between the Upgrade Kit & V2 Mod Top. No way to tell if my components are still working until i get my replacement on Friday. Let's just say i am quite annoyed with Bitspower, once again. This is the second time Bitspower products has caused leaks in my systems, safe to say this will be the last time i run into this problem again. I'll stick with EK.
  17. Disaster! Bitspower has let me down once again, with their shabby O-Rings. While filling the reservoir, i got a nice free flowing leak, caused by the O-ring's between the Mod Top V2 & 150ml Top. Let's just say i'll be having a word to a Bitspower rep if my components don't work, this is the second leak I've had with Bitspower products. I'm hoping the massive pool of coolant that was at the bottom of the Mercury S3 hasn't managed to find it's way into my power supply. This will be the last time i ever deal with Bitspower. So now i wait for replacement mod top with new O-Rings, looks like it won't be filled tonight...
  18. Thanks buddy Plenty of excellent builds getting around here lately that inspire me to up my game. Just dive in mate, these days water-cooling is much safer than it used to be
  19. Third time lucky? Here is another attempt at tubing this up, adding the second radiator made the tubing route impossible at the bottom unless i done some form of magic, so i decided to reroute the radiator inlet/outlet ports to the top. I've also changed the tubing from some of the blocks to give a better flow to the build. Take note this is just a mock up tubing route, I'll decide my final design & cut appropriate lengths tonight prior to filling. I'll be swapping the pump around so the Inlet/Outlet ports are on the other side, in which i'll route my Radiator & GPU Outlet to these ports. Oh And don't worry, there is no Kink in the tube, it's just the angle
  20. Toight like a Toiger Ok so I've installed my second 240mm Radiator, along with all the cables. This is the tightest case I've ever had to work with, doesn't help that I've completely filled the thing. I've had to completely change my tubing route, which you'll all get to see tomorrow when i fill the loop, let me just say i wouldn't recommend the S3 for beginner's Pictures of 95% completed build tomorrow night
  21. Small Update Finishing the last of the PCIE cables today & SATA Power cables and then all complete Awaiting my radiator which I'm expecting sometime this week and then this weekend i'll be filling the loop if all goes to plan Already planning my next build, let's just say it's going to be full of color
  22. 290x is supreme when dealing with higher resolutions, and i mean 4k, not 1440p. The 290x is no match for a 2880 Core card, it's struggling to compete with overclocked Titans already, and that's under water. Everyone forgets that GK110 is heavily under-clocked from Nvidia, an overclocked Titan is still the King, imagine a low TDP, B1 Revision 2880 card with custom pcbs. 290x is in trouble as Nvidia is about to take the performance crown all over again. Not sure why people are talking about 4K within this thread as OP has clearly stated 1440p.
  23. Updated. Mxthunder - Is it ok if i link your OCN thread within the main post for those interested in tweaks?
