  1. look up hardinfo you can download it by opening terminal (hit win key then type terminal or press ctr alt t ) then type sudo apt-get install hardinfo also 12.04 onwards has system moniter in them already i think. win key then type system moniter. also downloading software ctr alt t then type sudo apt-get install (name of software) or just use the super slow software centre.
  2. i personally use firefox. i always just used chrome but i noticed since about version 20 its become a bit resource hungry so i made the switch to firefox about the same time i switched to linux just about 2 months ago. i am loving it. and if im right you can set up sycing in firefox atleast in firefox 21 you can, even before that
  3. haha fastest web browser around. guys just the heads up lynx is a txt based web browser linux is not. lynx isn't just a cool way to say linux it actually is something else. just saying
  4. theres ie on tablet? look into some linux distro probally some more lightweight ones. i would start a thread on this if i were you.

  13. yeah that is pretty true but i love linux enough to invest in it. it's sort of a circle we don't use linux because no games = that no ones makes games for linux = no one uses linux. its a circle that keeps going around and i want to be part of stopping this.
  14. i am typing this on ubuntu. i have a windows 7 laptop but i have only used it about 10 times in the last month maybe. i am getting a gaming computer and booting ubuntu straight on it no windows at all. by the time i save up for it (im a student) i beleive there will be enough titles to play.
  15. hey guys this is my first post. was just wondering what distro of linux you use for gaming and what graphics card and how is the graphic card support foir that card. also how long do you think until a few good titles on linux will arrive? i know valve is porting some titles. anyway thanks in advance for your thoughts
