  1. How exactly does an SSHD improve game performance by 20%? Loading times - sure; but performance gains? EDIT: Says system performance...very misleading.
  2. Yeah sorry, my mistake - i didn't realise win10 drivers had been released.
  3. Revert to previous drivers. I'm using the drivers before last as the current ones would crash on me consistently. Also, if you're on Win10, it may be because those drivers have not been released yet.
  4. The L9i is also only really recommended for 65W TDP. I think you will be fine using it on your AMD processor, but if you don't want to take the 'risk', opt for either a lower TDP or look at alternatives (i.e bigger case; better cooling solutions etc).
  5. I am using the Intel version (L9i) with a stock 4670k (84W TDP) and temps are fine, currently around 40c under medium load of batch video editing. So long as you have decent case airflow, you should be fine. I'm using the included fan as well, so if you're planning on using a bigger fan then that will only lower your temps further.
  6. Alright guys, Basically I've been editing some videos using Vegas Pro 10 on my laptop. Recently, I've come back to my desktop to continue the work. Upon transferring the project files (same files as on laptop) to my desktop copy of Pro 10, the whole video is slightly misaligned. By this, I mean that any overlay text or animation is ever-so-slightly not in the correct location. It seems to be for all the project files i've worked on my laptop. I've triple checked the project settings and frame properties, aspect ratio etc and they are all set to be identical as the laptop yet the preview - and render - are different. Anyone got any ideas? Cheers
  7. Oh yeah sorry didn't realise. Hmm. The only thing I can think of now is to try and find a display port - hdmi adapter and try that
  8. THe non-modular PSU will be fine, modular is really just a useful feature, not a necessity in most cases.
  9. I have the same cooler (NH-L9i) and although it is not a bad cooler at all, it isn't worth the $60. Obviously the stock won't perform as well, but I think with your budget, it's worth it to have a slightly worse cooler for a better gpu or cpu.
  10. Connect the VGA directly and see if the display shows anything.
  11. Could be a faulty HDMI port - do you have a DVI cable on hand to test?
  12. Yep; when you have the 780ti can you install the drivers for your on-board video?
  13. That may be the problem - some times it a bit hit and miss with re-using a Windows install from a previous CPU & Motherboard. If you can't find anything physically wrong, you may have to reinstall Windows. But this should be the last thing you should do; I'm not sure why the BIOS is playing up. Have you tried resetting the CMOS? (Remove the motherboard battery and re-insert it).
  14. So if you put your 780ti back in (do you still have it?) you should be able to install the drivers in Windows?
  15. You're spending $60 on a CPU cooler when you're buying a CPU that won't overclock. I would leave buying an aftermarket cooler and just use the stock one (if it doesn't come with the stock cooler, buy a much cheaper one) and contribute that extra $50-$60 on either the GPU or an i5.
  16. Have you installed the drivers for the Integrated graphics? You may need to put your card back in temporarily to be able to install the drivers.
  17. Here's a good video Linus did on the difference between DDR and GDDR. As for what card is in the PS4, it isn't a "normal", consumer-available GPU but I think it's based around the Radeon 7870 GPU.
  18. That may be needed later on. There are other things we need to check first. Did you do a fresh install of windows when you replaced your components? Check to see if any of the motherboard stand-offs (in your case) are touching the motherboard where they shouldn't do, possibly causing a short circuit. Check all power connections to the board.

  20. Moved to Cases & Power Supplies - Please try to post in the correct sub-forum whenever possible. Thanks!
  21. First, make sure your graphics card is properly seated, and power connectors are all firmly in place. If that is a-ok then try booting with only one stick of RAM at a time. If you go through all sticks then its time to look at your CPU. You may need to reseat it (make sure you have some extra thermal compound on hand).
  22. Press tab and then look bottom right corner.
