  1. Im interested into what happened with your card cause I recently sent my 970 to Gigabyte and it was delivered, but no RMA update. How was your experience?
  2. Is there any signifigance to why the fans only start spinning up when windows is booted? The fans act normal in the bios.
  3. Do you think plugging in the GPU fans into a free motherboard connector would work?
  4. To begin I have 2 Gigabyte GTX 970's in my system. One of my GTX 970's fan was no longer working (it would not spin smoothly anymore) and the other 2 fans on the card were spinning at top speed all the time. I decided to remove the singular broken fan, as it was doing nothing sitting in the GPU getting stuck in it's rotation. After the removal, as to be expected, the other 2 remaining working fans still rotated at 100%. This was about a year ago, and I have tried multiple things to remedy it but nothing works. Here is a list: 1. The GPU doesn't respond to fan controlling software such as MSI afterburner or OC Guru. 2. I have switched the physical location of the GPUs in the PCI slots multiple times. 3. I have taken the GPU apart multiple times, checking and redoing connections as well as cleaning the pins and re-applying thermal paste. 4. More recently, I successfully updated my BIOS for the first time with no problems. I'm completely out of ideas at this point. The only silence from the fans I get is if I go into the BIOS, but when windows is booted up the fans rev up and stay like that until the computer is turned off. I have not contacted Gigabyte yet, but that's probably my next step
  5. Well, warranty is probably out of question since I took it apart and took the fan out. I ordered a cheap replacement fan for $5 so If that doesn't work I will give up on it. Another thing if this would give you any ideas on my problem - the fans only start spinning up when I boot up windows. It doesn't happen in the bios or when the computer is initially turned on. I don't know if this would provide any insight in the problem but I am willing to hear anything.
  6. Ok I figuered out the problem. Turns out the third fan on my GPU isn't working properly. It looks like its stuck because when I took it out it did not spin freely like the other two. This seems to be putting the other two fans in overdrive because of the failure of one. What do you think I should do?
  7. Temps are ok, about 30 C for both of them when idle Oh and it seems to be a position problem, when switched top GPU still at 100
  8. Any other suggestions besides getting rid of them?
  9. lol how much you think I can sell them for?
  10. I have 2 GTX 970's in SLI by Gigabyte in my computer. For some reason, the top GPU's fans run at 100 percent speed as if it has a mind of its own. It doesn't respond to MSI Afterburner or any other programs I have tried. I have even switched my 2 GPU's places to see if anything happened, but the same problem occurred. This has happened to me a couple times since I built my computer about 2 years ago, and usually it just goes away. But, I would like to end this problem once and for all. Any suggestions?
  11. I actually just reset windows, removing a good portion of useless programs in the process. Fixed problem so far too. Win win, ty for help
  12. I have an Samsung SSD that windows is booted on. Current version of windows is 1607
  13. Rig consists of: i7 - 4960k GTX 970 in SLI 16 GB Ram So, a while ago, I updated my windows 10 and after this my computer started lagging on certain programs. For example, things like File Explorer, or Task Manager, or Sony Vegas are extremely slow and unresponsive at times. However, playing games has not been affected. Still getting super high FPS, no drops, or anything unusuall. Do not know why this is happening, but it is quite annoying.
  14. How do you make the bottom GPU the primary?
  15. lol its my first build cut me some slack
