    No its just that for high-end gaming year after year the x80 non-Ti cards are the best 'baller' option. You can get the flagship 80 card at release and buy the next gen 80 card when it comes out for the same price as a Titan.

    You can continually place chunks of dry ice on a stock cooler. It wont go as cold as when using a liquid substrate with it but it should go sub-ambient at least.

    20c. I run the Turbo PWM setting and max speed happens a little under 70c. It might be borderline but 47c sounds acceptible as these chips put off a lot heat with even a small OC.

    I have my system on the bench right now so I ran it at the original 1.18v 4250MHz(125MHz bus) and cache with a worst case scenario of a GPU in the loop(idle) and only a 280mm slim rad. 62c max in RealBech.     Yeah that's not playable. You should look for games that won't dip below the refresh rate of your monitor and use V-Sync to lock it there.

    Sorry man. Those are still good games and should run great. Shadow Warrior is free on Steam. If you get 60FPS solid you could probably play newer games.

    I'm hoping for 4GHz lowest end Skylake X and 4.5ish for 6-core Coffee lake. After Kaby I think it's just a matter of temps like you said earlier.

    X299 GTX 1180/2080 whatever it's called 4000+MHz DDR4 I want to bench a 7700K but I keep getting hit up by dudes with other gear I need. It sucks.

    IMO for high end gaming year after year it's best to get the x80 model card at release and use it until the next x80 or for two gens even. Unless you have a boatload of disposable income of course. That's just how I view it though.
