  1. If the plate in question is dry it's ok. I'd run it.
  2. That looks like residue all good. You usually have to sand that off of the ihs and cooler if you use it as traditional paste.
  3. You might be ok if it was only on it for a short time.
  4. As long as the pads aren't bridged. If it ate through the gold, not good. If it got on the top of the PCB under the metal ihs, not good.
  5. What do you classify as common? Here we go to the doctor when we have a reason to like sickness and injury. Example: I was working on my car, finger gets ripped clean off - have surgery the same day. My finger is almost 100% after half a year of healing. Car insurance paid for the surgery and gave me minimal financial compensation for missing work.
  6. Actually it's the best but you have to pay. People come from all over the world to be treated, people are actually ordered by their government not to come here for treatment lol.
  7. Some do more than others while some like XTU score the same everytime. If you mess around enough you'll find routines for each benchmark that'll make it score higher, some a few points and some you'll destroy the expected score. The OS you use and how its configured have a huge impact on performance.
  8. X99M-WS. Was bench stable up to 5.5GHz/5820K depending on the benchmark. EDIT: Ran cache at 4.9g as well.
  9. Use his ddr4 for a test. It worked 100% before he gave it to you?
  10. Probably the board. Do you know anyone that can test the parts for you like the person you got this from? What's the story on the parts?
  11. Grey is my favorite color but the Yellow and Giga Orange boards from the past are way cooler than RGB. Having board components actually colored is baller, a tiny lightbulb isn't.
  12. Are you sure? Mine is super stable even with extreme settings.
  13. Why do people jack off to underage-looking cartoons? Is it that good?
  14. The IHS on the CPU is nickel plated copper. It used to be popular to lap it to the copper with a mirror finish. If your heatsink is aluminum and gouged I'd replace it. Even extremely cheap aftermarket coolers have a copper or nickel plated base.
  15. You can get new 2TB Ultrastar 7200/64MB's for not much more. The 8TB Helium HGST drives are $250. Unless you need redundancy right now those are awesome.
  16. They're down $150 from a month or two ago and it might not be done dropping in price. Maybe another $50-100 off after 8700K who knows. You'll get higher on the 5960 for sure but probably not 5g.

  18. Yep works https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-IX-HERO/specifications/
  19. I know it takes work to get Win7 running and updatable on Kaby lake CPUs but im not sure if the Z270 boards do with no work. If theres Win7 drivers for a board you're good.
  20. You could get a 1 port for temporary use then. Intel nics work the best/easiest with pretty much everything.
  21. I suspect the memory controller on the CPU is very weak, you're using the XMP voltage now that 4000+ sticks use. Bum luck I think.
  22. Intel. 2 port would be the best for use case https://www.amazon.com/Intel-1000-Dual-Server-Adapter/dp/B000BMZHX2/ref=pd_sim_147_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000BMZHX2&pd_rd_r=H3GXBRXKF6GWMT3NY540&pd_rd_w=UuAIL&pd_rd_wg=XW9dW&psc=1&refRID=H3GXBRXKF6GWMT3NY540
  23. If youre using CPU-Z it doesnt show double data rate so 1600 = 3200. Youre good if 1600.
  24. Not until you get up into super high clocks on both.
