Recently I bought this adapted:

Like any other nooby consumer I just assumed with the long title stating it's capability and and content, this one was the one for me. I wanted to use if for my laptop to prevent the ping from rising from 49 to 1000 randomly, so I could stream videos and play games in peace. When I bought this it came with some fancy antennas and a tiny disc for installing it's driver. For a while I stop having lagg, but Strangely the adapter gave me 3 bars apposed to the 4 bars my In built Wifi provided, and the external Adapter began to cause high ping and Low download rates.
I have a standard 2.4 GHZ Router with no problems and little traffic or electrical interference, It's in working order, but for some reason my In build WI-FI is faster than this fancy little toy I bought for £13 ($20).

Now I was getting 10 Mb/s which was an improvement from the 1 Mb/s I got from my in build one, but the readings went loop sided and now my in built one provides 10 Mb/s and the external one stops working sometimes... and has low speeds. Now this is not from china and has good reviews and I have caused it no damage.
I got them both at their optimum and their speeds vary some time, but I'm wondering which one according to their specs should be faster (this is out of curiosity)
Bare in mind I'm new to this forum and only 17 so I'm not the best at explaining this sort of stuff, all I know is there is no bottleneck with my router because I have 2 other PC's that have average speeds with it and one 2 of them are on really so I doubt it's traffic, but Forgetting this weird occurrence I have described which should technically be better?
