  1. Hello fellow tech tip forum users! I'm planning on doing a physical clean out and a fresh OS install on my fairly old rig. Here are the specs: Processor: i7 950 @ 3.07GHz 2 x 2Gb DDR3 1600Mhz G Skill RAM Asus P6X58D-E mobo with a fried ethernet port (and probably damaged surrounding components) :( ATI Radeon GD 5570 All running on MS Windows 7 Ultimate. So two questions: 1. Should I be considering moving to Windows 8 right now (at all)? I use the computer for design work, media management and moderate gaming. I have a dual monitor set up so I'm not going to be taking advantage of any of the touch features of the OS anyway. I think the answer to this one is no but maybe there's some hidden gems in the W8(.1) that I should know about? 2. Any software you would recommend on a fresh install? Like Microsoft Security Essentials instead of AVG or setting up scheduled defrags. Pretty much what you wish you would have done with your first install but only realized much later. Your responses will be highly appreciated and thank you in advance :)
  2. That was the one thing that stopped me from flashing the last time my phone needed a clean out. Stability. But after dealing with stock 4.0.3 issues for the past few months, a nightly will probably feel more stable :D
  3. YES! Stock android ftw. I've been using my S2 for the past 2 (nearly 3 years) on stock and I have slowly gone from being okay with it, to full out hate it. I'm probably going to be flashing a stable build of CM on it this weekend. More so than any of the gesture features and bloatware being removed, I think this will set a new standard update delivery times from a manufacturer. As always with new tech, I want it and I want it now.
