  1. I have three old sata hard drives, one 160g seagate, one 80g seagate and a 80g western digital. The 160g drive is the only one that is relatively unused or new. Both the 80g drives have "caution" in crystal disk info. I am going to use my old windows 7 license on these. My question is, if I raid 0 them, will the strain or usage on each individual drive be reduced? I'm not going to be storing anything important but I want these drives to last as long as possible. So how can I use them in a way that the lifespan of the drives is the longest?
  2. i think you might have a bitcoin mining virus
  3. i chose those because i dont have amazon or newegg where i live and these were the best options i could find, im using a website called www.lelong.com.my to find parts
  4. 85c in synthetic, though it does get to low 70s in fallout 4 or planetside 2
  5. Where i live that cooler is more expensive than the dark rock 3, I did some research and found this: "Dark Rock 3 looks to be a better performing cooler with a better fan, but the H5 is more affordable and looks easier to install. If the cost difference doesn't mean much, or if you're going for a high overclock, go with BeQuiet!. If you'd rather spend that extra money somewhere else, go Cryorig"
  6. Hello, I have a 4790k and a Z87-G43 GAMING that I've been using together for 2.5 years. I'm finally going to get a better aftermarket cooler to allow me to overclock. Should I try to overclock with the Z87-G43 or should I get a G1 sniper Z97 that I found on sale for usd 69? Will the G1 sniper give better overclocks? The z87 g43 has 6 mosfets around the socket but the g1 sniper has 8. Also, y Z87-G43 has a weird issue where it doesn't restart but just stops hard drive activity and stays on, does anyone know how I can solve this? And the audio is not very good when I use my ATH-M40X, will the G1 Sniper Z97 have better audio? I heard it has a quad core audio processor but I don't know if it genuinely gives better audio or if it is just marketing.
  7. I have a 4790k under a Cooler Master TX3 EVO. It is seated correctly, I've checked, but I get 40c at idle and all the way up to 85c at full load, even after I disabled turbo boost! The ambient temperature is around 27-32c, is this normal? Also, I'm using a Cooler Master Elite 311 windowed case. I'm planning to upgrade my case, fans and cooling under usd 140. I found a dark rock 3 for usd 64.75 and a masterbox 5 for usd 69, will this allow me to overclock? Because I've been using this for 2.5 years without turbo boost or overclocks because of the high temps :(.
  8. just run aida 64, for benchmarking use cinebench r15 and cool build!
  9. try to boot up with the integrated intel graphics, by plugging hdmi into the motherboard, while the card is installed, next, boot into windows and check if your card is detected by gpuz or device manager under display adapters. If you can't boot up with intel graphics, remove all pcie graphics cards and change the bios settings to use "igpu" and not "peg" for graphics adapter
  10. Do you guys know where I can get copper radiators? All the radiators I can find are aluminium. And don't the metals have to be connected by a conductor for galvanic corrosion?
  11. Im planning a custom loop under a very low budget for cooling a 4790k. I can't find any copper radiators or aluminium water blocks out there so I'm stuck with aluminium rads and copper water blocks. Can anyone explain exactly why mixed metals is a bad idea? Can anyone tell me where I can find copper rads or aluminium water blocks? I can only buy from AliExpress, Banggood or Amazon as a last resort. How much radiator real estate would I need if the ambient temps in my room are around 30 Celsius?
  12. Plug in a motherboard speaker, it is usually provided with the case or with the motherboard. Try with a different power supply.
  13. I solved it, for some reason, when the settings are reset to default, secure boot is turned on and legacy boot is turned off. I turned off secureboot and turned on legacy boot, it works perfectly fine now. I managed to install Windows 10, it works.
  14. I used a different hard drive, but i don't know how to reset the bios, the manual doesn't give enough information on which header or which jumpers. I turned on legacy boot and it seems to beagle to boot, but there are still no post messages from sata controller or network controller. I used a hard drive with Windows from another computer, it booted up, I flashed the bios to the latest, but the post messages still don't show and I still have to enable legacy boot manually. I have to reinstall Windows tomorrow and check if device manager can shed some light on sata controller or ethernet being recognised.
  15. Im running a cooler master power supply, I forgot the name but it I still fine, it works with another computer. Is there no way to flash the bios without turning on the PC? There are some fancy recovery connectors on the board, according to the hp website. I heard these can be used with a flashing tool. Can I get one of these? Can I use an arduino?
