So I wanted to update that the downgrade went mostly OK, everything is working well, most win10 drivers from ASUS website worked also on 8.1 and those who don't, which was only " Intel® Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Drive" I chose some other random laptop model that had this under 8.1 in the driver download page and installed it, and everything is running great and updates are installing properly

    F*ck Win10!
The only thing that really annoys me in this laptop is that there's no "end" key.
I will have to rebind it to some other key.

This build is a complete overkill
What good is X99 5960X if all he wants is to play games on ultra at 1440p?
Even one 980 Ti is enough.

You know what, if the OP doesn't mind throwing money around, I'll build a system that can do all he wanted for 1500 dollars less and he can give me the rest if he dislikes his money so much.

^ but I'd really not recommend that gpu. A 270/270x is notably better and can be found for basically the same price, and a 950 (for about 10 dollars more from the same manufacturer) or if you can find a 280/7950/7970 for similar pricing get that instead.

Change the power option so it goes to sleep after 2 hours.
    Very simple.

If it's first gen i5 it's anyway going to die soon.

    No compatibility issue here.
No problem with GPU, PSU or CPU, if anything they are overkill.

750W PSU and a better GPU?
    For DOTA2 and Tera?
    Really?

Then sure, I would recommend him to get a 5960X, a 1200W platinum PSU and GTX 980 Ti.

But for dota and casual use, this build is an over kill.
The CPU, HDD and RAM you already have, so no point to dwell on those.

PSU 500W from a good brand is enough, if you can an 80+ gold then it's perfect.
GPU go for GTX 750Ti or GTX 950.

CPU cooler go for CM Evo 212 if fits in your case.

Otherwise It's just throwing money away.
