  1. Ok cool, I was just afraid that I would need to totally wipe the drive and do a fresh install of Windows. Thanks
  2. Ok, but does that mean just boot from the same install and re-enter my license key, or wipe drive and fresh install?
  3. Hi, I just ordered a new motherboard for my system that I built a few years ago as well as a new graphics card. I know swapping out a graphics card is quick and easy just change it out and reboot. But, to change the motherboard, will it recognize my current windows install or will I need a fresh hard drive and fresh windows install? Like can I just swap the board and expect it to boot from the same hard drive or will that not work? Id rather not reinstall Windows and everything. Also, the new board is for the same CPU socket as before and still made by Asus, just a better model.
  4. Hmmm. If I need to get a new PSU which will cost roughly $100 then I only have about $150 left for a new GPU which puts me in the 1050ti range? Do you think that's the best option given my budget?
  5. Here is my current build: Processor: FX - 6350 GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 Ghz PSU: Corsair CX500 I am planning to upgrade my GPU and currently looking at the ASUS 1060 STRIX 6GB. If I make this upgrade, will my current PSU be ok or would that need to be upgraded too? If the power supply needs to be upgraded as well then I need to look into a cheaper GPU option.
  6. hmmm. i guess ill try and call them up then
  7. separate devices. The cable modem is in the basement and the router is located in my fathers office on the first floor. And I'm sure everything is plugged in correctly.
  8. it says that i am connected to my network but no internet connection
  9. I have been randomly losing connection to the internet (but not the network/router) for about 30-60 seconds, and then reconnecting. This happens multiple times a day. I am connected to the router via Ethernet so I'm not sure whether the problem is the router, the cable modem, or on the ISP end. I am totally willing to get a new router since I'm currently using the one provided by Time Warner Cable, but I would first want to confirm that the router is the problem. Any advice would be much appreciated.

  13. So normally in the past I've been downloading things around 900KBs-1.3MBs. But, starting like 4 days ago, my downloads have been constantly dropping to like 16KBs then only going back up to around 500KBs. When they arent going up and down like that they are just hanging around 150KBs. And, every once in a while it will drop to 0 for like a minute. Whats going on and what can I do about it???? My brother told me hes been having the same issue. So i know the problem isnt my computer.
