    The fans operate the same. What kind of fan curve you want the fans to follow is up to you. 
    What fan hub do you have?

    They just need to be on the same network. How you connect everything together may affect performance in various ways however as long as the devices are on the same network you shouldn't have any major issues.

    you should try verifying local game cache integrity. it may be that you have something that is corrupt. while your at it check out your hdd and make sure its not damaged and requires replacement, a good program is HDsentinal as it checks your SMART status and gives you the health status of your drives.

    Reinstall Steam. Probably a download error. 
     
    Edit: if that doesn't work, contact steam support. they will probably fix the problem because after all they want your $$$.

    Stretch it and heat it using a hair dryer, just don't melt the insides of the wire
