Dedicated GPU is going to be huge, remember added ram on the dedicated GPU is going to be the same/better than more system ram. Because right now your integrated GPU is using system RAM for graphics RAM.

You are stuck with a cheap cpu for at least 3 years but somehow have money to get a 1440p monitor...
Honestly get your priorities straight, your gaming experience will be quite bad regardless what you get.

If you can grab a RX 570 4GB for a good price go that way but still... 1440P isn't exactly you should aim for on a budget.

Yeah. Prices are slowly coming down but they've also been saying that since what was it... 2011 when light peak first came out? I seriously hope optical, or preferably hybrid (optical for data + copper for power), connections come to consumer interfaces sooner rather than later, but I'm not holding my breath.

Right, that is approximately the frame rate I am getting in GTA V at 768p with normal settings with the iGPU and it doesn't go higher if I lower the resolution, showing the max fps of the cpu

probably a GTX 980/1060 or RX 480/580 i would say...anything more than that and that APU will hold it back in the 40-50FPS anyways...so yeah!

JorAlv reacted to AlTech in Thunderbolt 4?
It should be noted that a new Thunderbolt version typically comes out every 2 years.

    TB1 - Early 2011 for Announcement/ Late 2011 for Implementation
    TB2 - Early 2013 for Announcement/ Late 2013 for Implementation
    TB3 - Mid 2015 for Announcement/ Mid to Late 2016 for Implementation.

Therefore TB4 should be around Mid to Late 2017 for announcement and up to Mid to late 2018 for implementation.

in this Situation the CPU Is a Clear Bottleneck as it cant Keep up with such a Fast GPU

I Think 1440p No Matter What you Do may be a Bit Far for that CPU, but If I had to Recommend I would do the Same as @samcool55 and go with a RX 580 or 570 but Even then 1440p is a Long Shot on that CPU

They might, but I don't think they would. They have just made a comeback into the market and are probably spending everything on newer generations of Zen already and sorting out drivers and money. They could end up doing so maybe in q3 or q4 when they will have more people to work on other jobs

Man... well said. Maybe they're just trying to show their single threaded performance is actually getting better. And an integrated GPU better then a GT 740? That could be an amazing deal when xfired with a dedicated GPU. I'm sick of monopolies in every fashion, I only have one option for internet, only one option for CPU, only one option for GPU. I really hate Time Warner Cable, and the Intel/Nvidia stuff is just way too expensive. Maybe AMD are the real geniuses here, if they can make a major breakthrough with an APU it will change the market of computers forever. No more PCI-E for CPU+GPU communication, less space requirements, no more dedicated GPUs and CPUs? They still have to perfect it though. They're working towards a potential gold mine that seems still very far away

Just go to https://pcpartpicker.com/from now on, set your parts and it will tell you of any possible compatibility issues

According to them here are the compatible ram types

    DDR3-1333 / 1600 / 1866 / 2133 / 2400
Just went also to MSI website (specifications tab)

    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/A88X-G45-GAMING.html#hero-specification

    DDR3 2400(OC)/2133/1866/1600/1333 MHz
So its the same info but seems like 2400 is not supported out of the box you need to OC it

So to answer your question it should accept both

Mmm not exactly. Yes it would run at a lower speed until you overclock it, but not the CPU, you have to overclock the RAM.

    http://www.techradar.com/us/news/computing-components/upgrades/how-to-overclock-your-ram-1030286

You have to change a few settings in your UEFI/BIOS to increase the memory frequency, but again, yes it would take the 2400Mhz memory and will probably run at 2133Mhz until you overclock it

EDIT: Also remember than for APU systems the frequency of the memory impacts performance considerably.
