QueenObama reacted to Donut417 in College Dorm Wifi Router Ethernet HELP!
Their network their rules. Generally they can control access of devices connected. So if the Ethernet wont work, they probably have a white list of devices that are connected to Ethernet. If you keep pushing them they might leave you without internet access or ask you to leave. My advice is to buy a WiFi card for your computer. Because attempting to tap in to the Ethernet network could get you expelled from the school.

QueenObama got a reaction from jwakeford in Best CPU for Gaming, and video editing and content creation
The RX 480 is only 200$ and compares to a gtx 970, and adding two of them compares well to the 1080 but 200$ cheaper.

QueenObama reacted to Aereldor in 3 different builds for about 1k which is the best.
That's a great build. The 390 presents exceptional value for money and you can overclock non-k Skylake CPUs making the i5 6500 as good as the 6600k.

QueenObama reacted to reddemonoverlord in 3 different builds for about 1k which is the best.

Something like this? Of course, the CPU cooler can be opted out for a cheaper one. Added in a SSD as well.

QueenObama got a reaction from Hotpeppa1 in $1000 CAD Build Help
Hello, My name is Nate I've done lots of research for a 1000$ build just saving up.
The Best price to performance is the GTX 970 MSI 4G graphics card.
My current monitor is the asus vg248qe Its overkill but if you can find it on sale during this black friday deals go for it the colors are fine and Having 144hz for you build will make it nice
Peripherals - Cheap 15 logitech keyboard is the way to go. Mouse- Logitech <3
CPU- Intel, right now i have to spend extra because i got a AMD CPU with a AMD motherboard now i need both a new motherboard and new gpu just to be able to upgrade my graphics card.
Motherboard - spend around 100-130 on this to get a good one with features and everything necessary.
Hard Drive- Seagate Hard Drive/ssd combined thing
SSD- find a 240gb on craigslist for cheap to put the operating system on.
RAM- Corsair Vengeance 2x 4gb should be find get 2x8gb if you have extra on your budget
Case- Get one with ample room for upgrades in the future especially if you are wanting to watercool it later.
Tried to help hope some of this is useful
