  1. Well I've got a Radeon 6850. So... yeah, I think it's time for an upgrade
  2. It seems really useful to have a compact projector that can be placed really close to the wall. PS: nice video
  3. I'm currently using an old generic Dell RT7D20, which is good but impossible to use in the dark. This would be a nice upgrade!
  4. Well I need one because I don' have one yet, and I really need to rethink my storage system
  5. I'd like getting the Kova, since my RAT 5 is slowly dying, and the Kova, as well as other Roccat products, gets my attention.
  6. I redid all the cabling, it seems a cable was slightly loose. I hope that was the only problem.
  7. I'm testing my pc with the old PSU now too see if the problem persist. The only difference is that the power led and the optical drive aren't plugged in because I'm lazy. PS: please don't do this, and don't look at the case... and the cable management...
  8. Since last week my pc is randomly hanging: the monitor turns off and shows no signal, so I need to reboot and hope the pc will turn on without problems (which is not always true). I'm sure it isn't a software problem, because it crashed on Windows, a live Linux pendrive and even in the bios. However I was able to run a "stress test" without facing any problem (boinc + gpu stress test). It started when the screen would turn pink while not in use. I then changed my power supply (I have an evga gs 650w now), but after a while this started happening, mostly when I'm not using my pc. The event log in Windows shows a video driver crash, so I'm suspecting that the vga is the problem. However I have no way of testing it in another computer atm. Do you have any clue on what could be the cause of the problem? Or can you suggest a way to test some components (no spare parts apart from the old psu, which in theory still works)? Edit: the vga is a Radeon HD6850
  9. It would be a good HTPC on which I could even play some games, in front of my tv, leaving my main pc for more hardcore stuff.
  10. The GS 650w is still the best option so far. I managed to find it at 111€ and I'll buy it today or tomorrow. In the meantime I'll still consider other options, if any. EDIT: I've just ordered it. Thank you everyone!
  11. Until now the Supernova GS 650W seems the winner, but it is a bit over my planned budget (110-115€). Are there other similar options with roughly the same characteristics? I think I'll buy this one if there isn't anything similar for this price.
  12. So, my PSU is clearly going to die, and I am looking for a good PSU for a mid-range PC. I've already read some guides and some reviews, but I'm still quite clueless. My actual configuration is rather old (Intel i5 2400, Radeon HD6850, generic WD hard drive, some random ram and soon an SSD), however I want to be able to upgrade it in the future without buying another power supply. Chances are I will never buy top-tier power hungry components (let's say I'll never buy something higher than a GTX970) and I won't overclock anything, so I won't need more than 550-650 watts if I'm correct. However I'd like the PSU to be up to the current standards (i.e. latest CPU power management standards) and power efficient. Last but not least, budget: around 100€, of course a bit less is better. The store must ship to Italy and accept PayPal if possible. Thank you in advance.
  13. I'd prefer to have removable HDD cages in case of future upgrades. I'll likely never have more than 2-3 HDD/SSD installed at the same time. Also the window is a plus, if it doesn't dramatically increse noise level. Is the N600 significantly noisier than the P100? What about other cases I haven't considered? PS: I don't mind a slightly noisier case, of course if it doesn't sound like a race car. Also, is it possible to make custom antivibration grommets if the case doesn't have them?
  14. I am also considering the option to use an external enclosure for my optical drive and to use an adapter for cases without USB 2.0 on the front. Of course in this case the chassis must have clear advantages over the ones that meet the requirements. So are there much better options than those two?
  15. I'm shopping from Italy (anything that accepts Paypal is fine) and these are my current specs: CPU: i5 2400 (currently stock cooled but I may buy a CM 212 evo) GPU: Radeon HD6850 from ASUS Motherboard: some microatx board from asus PSU: LC Power 650 watt to be changed very very soon (will ask here in the near future) 1x 3.5" drive, 1x 5.25 drive I want to add an SSD soon.
