I am a very big fan of corsair myself and have corsair parts here and there as it looks awesome and they make great stuff but they tend to set their prices high (not that they don't deserve it) and an all corsair build would probably cost a significant amount more than a partial corsair build. If they made great gtx 600 cards then I would probably sli one with my msi 660 pe :)

You could try taking your gpu out and run folding with the onboard one to be sure it's the gpu

dual cortex a9@1ghz is as much processor you need at the moment, it didnt stop them making 1.5ghz quad core a9's despite the fact no phone apps are THAT demanding and dont use more than 4 cores, it doesnt make sence to make a phone with 300% the power requirement but only 50% more battery but they do it...and people buy it
a15's are much better and id now say a dual cortex 15 @1ghz is all you need its faster than a9's with less power usage, problem solved and the way things are going 5in phones will soon be normal and most people dont have a problem with a phone thats only 2mm thicker, it still fits in an average jean pocket, and doesnt cut into you as ive heard some people say.
5in 720p ips screen (half the pixels to render=nearly double the frame rate, still plenty of pixel density (293), we dont hear people complaining about the iphone 4s screen (326) and more than my lg optimus 3d (217) which you really have to try to see pixels on
powerful dual core 1.2ghz cpu (galaxy S4 equivilant)
6400MaH battery (not much to ask considering the galaxy note 2 has it available)
adreno based graphics chip
imagine having a 5in screen playing games perfectly smoothing (60ish fps) on a crisp screen for hours without worrying about battery

To put it in simply, the cars will be synced, so the ram of both the cards will hold the same data. Each GPU can only read from its own ram, so each will have its own 2GB of ram. If you have one card with 2GB and one with 3GB, the latter one will have 1 GB unused, as it has to adapt to the abilities of the other

no because they share 2Gs,
they cant share what they dont have, and one has 1 extra Gb the other dosent

 As long as both cards a refence PCBs then you should be fine. Even with non matching boards you should be fine. But to be on the safe side I would stick with ref + ref. Also avoid XFX like the plague.

The preformance loss when going from x16 to x8 very minimal, you won't even recogize it.
If it's faster than a 680 depens on how well the game is optimized for SLI. Most of the time it will be faster.
