    My question is: i heard that pcie 4 is right around the corner and that cards designed for this slot only fit in this slot and not in the older ones. But with skylake there will be mainboards with this slot -> better upgrade possibilites?

    I would go for WD. Never had any problems with mine. Also don't go with Toshiba, I had 3 differen't Toshibas and all broke within one year.

    intressting. So keeping the card wouldn't be worth and buying a pcie card direct would be a better way.

    Hey LTT-Community, This is my first post, so i would be happy if you don't mind this and give me tips to improve the posts. I have an old W-Lan card from a Laptop and the connection looks quiet similar to a M.2 slot. So I wonder: if i build a PC with a M.2 slot, could I use this card there and get access to my Router? Sadly i haven't got access to a M.2-slot yet,so i can't test that.
