  1. No performance issues, I just think that the Cpu is running our of ram to dedicate is their is only 8 gigs and it only has one slot, I was just curios to know if I was to install more would it auto allocate 4gigs or 8 gigs for example ?
  2. Budget (including currency): NA Country: South Africa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Basci games mostly heavy coding and compiling work Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi guys hope everyone is doing well in this chip shortage. Please let me know if this has been posted in the wrong place > ( I did post it in laptops but no response ) I bought a Hp15S Ryzen 5500U. It is an APU that has integrated graphics, I bought it for the sole purpose of work when I am traveling however I sometimes find myself wanted to play some games casually. The laptop does well for the most part due to its 6 core 12 thread processor but doesn't have much Vram. The question I am here to ask is has anyone messed around with changing the dedicated Vram about from Auto to manual and dedicating say 4gig rather than 512mb I know that AMD uses some the Ram as dedicated Vram when needed so could I install an extra 8 gig stick of Ram install it and dedicate 4gigs to dedicated Vram and would that actual give a performance boost or would it just not do anything.? Side note I am new to AMD Always been a Intel fan boy but due to the power usage and just overall better performance in this price range the AMD Laptop made sense.

  4. Ok perfect thanks very much man will let you know if it works.
  5. Im honestly stumped as to what it could be, only thing I can see when the game crashes is the GPU spikes for a couple of sec then drops down
  6. No overclock at all not on cpu ram or gpu
  7. No error just crashes back to Desktop.
  8. It only game crashes not the whole system. Cpu temps are perfect
  9. Hi all Hope everyone is well, I am having an issue diagnosing a Pc I am currently fixing. Specs : Ryzen 5 3600 , 16 Gig Ram , GTX 1060 6 GIg, 700 watt power supply, NVME M.2 256gig. The pc is having trouble playing games at all as soon as you boot into the game about 3 min later the game crashes. The only Game i have been able to get to work is Dota 2 at low. I have Tried a full re-install of everything rolling back drivers including GeForce drivers as well as seeing if it was maybe a power issue I ran Stress tests of each components and no crashing occurred Please note this pc has traveled a lot all over Europe with its owner. This might have something to do with damage but no visible damage is present. I am struggling to figure this out this is my plea for help .
  10. Thanks man I am Also at a complete loss that's why I hoped the might of the Forum Would be able to help.
  11. Wouldn't the RAM cause the PC to Cycle on and off the whole time?
  12. Yeah talking to you now On my main pc, Tested the card in here works perfectly its an old GTX 970TI. I keep thinking this issue is CPU related due to the Heatsink not heating up at all I duno if I am crazy but it would be great if its just a cpu issue.
  13. I Did this when I first got the board checked everything was fine with cpu no bent pins on the board and put 2 ram sticks in the 2 corresponding slots HAve the 8 pin connector connected on the motherboard etc and only the boot Drive and GPU in. That Why I am trying to troubleshoot now thinking maybe the CPU is dead or the mounting pressure is wrong or something of that nature.?
  14. Ok thank you . could you help me here. I bought this Evga X58 Mobo with a I7920 ( I know old school) It has has a Coolermaster air cooler on it, How would I Know the correct mounting pressure as its just screws? Side note: The issue I am having is When I turn the board on it lights up. but doesn't display anything through the graphics card and the GPU fan doesn't even turn on, at first I thought the PCIE slots were busted but I felt the CPU heatsink and it isn't getting warm at all. So to see if any of the slots were working I But A wifi card into one of the USB 3 PCIE slots and the chip on the wifi card seems to be getting warm so I assume its getting power. Some help here would be greatly appreciated.
