  1. I want get my dad a GoPro camera for use in his car as a dash-cam and to film his daily commutes. He loves driving and being able to have his journeys recorded would be nice. The cameras small footprint is also a nice bonus. Merry Christmas! http://www.amazon.com/GoPro-HERO-LCD-Wi-Fi-Enabled/dp/B00XUP5M6Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449767842&sr=8-1&keywords=GoPro+HERO%2B+LCD+%28Wi-Fi+Enabled%29
  2. I like the Feenix Autore Keyboard because it's mechanical. Thanks for the giveaway!
  3. That's what I was thinking......The i5-5200U in the Lenovo is much more beefy than the Core M-5Y10...I guess that's what scares me the most. I can suck up to hybrid ssd but the cpu seems too under-powered... Well that might be true in some aspects....
  4. Thanks for the help guys. I think ASUS still holds its own, but I gotta admit a touch screen + Win. 8 seems pretty appealing...
  5. Hello guys, I need a laptop for school and narrowed down my options between these two laptops that just fit shy of my $700 budget. The question is I don't know which one I should go for. I know they are both similarly spec-ed, with the Lenovo having a more desirable touchscreen display. (glossy tho. ). On the flip side I rather have a 256GB SSD in the Asus then the 500GB/8GB SSD Cache in the Lenovo. I'm a strong Asus advocate but the the Lenovo and some nice features. Although I'm not a big fan of its "Yoga" style folding capabilities. (Not a bad thing, just not a huge selling point for me). I plan just to use the laptop for everyday tasks, but will need to do some coding on the machine. 6. Hello LTT Community, I was reliving my wonderful childhood memories of television and entertainment the other week. I dug up my old VHS tapes and decided to watch some of my favorites. However, I noticed that my VCR won't load any of my tapes. I figured that the tray loading system that loads the VHS into the the VCR was broken but I can't say for sure. I'm including some pictures of my VCR so hopefully some of you could lead me into the right direction to getting it fixed. I really don't wan't to throw it out if it is broken, as much as possible. It's possible if I remember correctly that this VCR is around 18 years old. The last time I used it (a few years ago maybe) it worked flawlessly, as it has been its whole lifetime. If I can't fix it, is there any store in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) where I could have someone take a look at it? Thanks for all your help in advance! -lol1419 ***Back of the unit ***Outputs ***Front of the unit ***Proof that it still boots and is recognized by my HDTV. ***VCR Menu ***VHS inserted half way into the slot ***VHS gets stuck at this point. It doesn't want to go in. I can pull it out with no problem. ***Inside ***Inside ***Manual. It say something about a Key Lock Mode, however i have no idea what this means.
  7. Hello Guys, I've noticed much dust accumulation on my case and want to prevent the matter. Thinking of investing in some magnetic duster filters for my case but not sure which fans I should cover. From my basic research I've read that I should cover all intakes, not exhausts, but what about passive airflow? I listed my case fan config below, hopefully some of you guys could help me out. Thanks in advance!
  8. Hey guys, I recently installed a new SSD in my system (the only drive), a Crucial MX100 128GB. I was going though forums and such for optimizations that should be done to improve the life span of SSD's when I hit a few controversies. I know I should disable disk defragmentation, indexing, enable trim, and disable hibernation, but how about other things such as: -pagefile (by how much, turn completely off or what?) (I have 8GB of RAM BTW) -Disable ClearPagefielAtShutdown and LargeSystemCache -Disbale Prefetch and Superfetch -Disable Windows Search and Superfetch -Anything else I need to know Here is the link I used to receive this information: www.computing.net/howtos/show/solid-state-drive-ssd-tweaks-for-windows-7/522.html I was a bit confused because I hear some options windows takes care of and others were problems faced with older SSD's. However, it would be great if the LTT community could help me out. Thanks!
  9. Are we at the conclusion that the SanDisk Ultra II is the best alternative? (on a side note is the mx a safer bet than the evo?) Thanks everyone for the quick comments by the way.
  10. Hey guys, It's another one of those notorious which is better questions. Need a new ssd for an upcoming build and wondering which is best? I couldn't come to a conclusion upon looking up articles online. BTW I'm getting a 120GB/ 128GB model.
  11. Looking for a decent ultrabook in the neighborhood of $700. Something reliable... For casual use...(work, school, etc..no gaming.) A lot of the options I searched were old ultrabooks (2012/13 models), many out of stock. Are manufactures still pumping out newer models anymore?
  12. Congratulations, Linus, Luke, and whole team. I first discovered your youtube channel a number of years ago while searching though tech videos. Been hooked on you channel ever since. Keep trooping guys!
