IF you look closely you will see it applies to xbox and windows games and xbocx live,  it is basic DRM, nothing new.

Disabling pirated software is a good thing, but what's the point of disabling unauthorized hardware.....

This is VERY hard to answer because what you think is good might be someone else's bad. Just depends what you're looking for and how much money you have. But there are some cards so stupid you shouldn't look at them like the R7-250 or HD 4000 which can only play a couple games in low settings.
