So,
I saw pictures of Raijintek Metis having large cooler in it, ATX power supply and long GPU and I was like "yeah, I want something just like this". I got pretty much everything needed except case and power supply. Bought a pair of Noctua NH-D14s and when they arrived I'm opening the package smiling, peeing myself like excited puppy. And after that, I went to check reviews. It was disaster:
-poor design choises
-high temperatures because of lack of / bad airflow
-weird humming noise when rear fan is turned around
-requires to mod it yourself to get good temperatures
-compromise between power supply or graphic card size
And I'm like "ffffffffffffffffffffffff-" because out of all the ITX tower cases that I know to support 160mm CPU cooler this one is the smallest one. I thought about getting 140mm ATX power supply and then changing the fan direction so that it doesn't blow air inside it, but to pull air outside it. But then I don't know whether this won't cause the power supply to overheat. Or get smaller SFF power supply to get bigger graphics card but then rip airflow. Or choosing between Classic (which would require some modding to get better airflow) or the Plus version (which doesn't require modding but has window, something I don't like).
I don't like the other cases much because they "aren't small enough". They're like 75% of my current one whereas the Metis is like 50% smaller.
Now, I don't know what to do. Are here some Raijintek Metis owners? How did you build your system? Have you done some modding (case, power supply fan)? Which power supply form factor you used?
(Also, can you buy replacement side panels for the Metis? I really don't like windows on side panels.)
