  1. Well they are both GK104, but I guess with the 7xx series they've done a die shrink I guess.
  2. Yeah I was afraid of that. I thought that it was based off the core not the card, so you might be able to SLI a 780 and a titan for example, because they are both GK110. I guess the 670 might end up being a dedicated PhysX card as well as powering my companion displays.
  3. I'd like to know if I can run a GTX 770 and a GTX 670 in SLI. If I remember right, they are both based on the GK104 chip, so I think that they can be run in SLI, but the 770 might downclock to match the 670. If it's not possible, I might run the 770 powering my main monitor, and the 670 running the other two.
  4. I use common sense 2013. Seems to work pretty good.
  5. I'll never use anything but the pea method unless anyone can prove 100% that some other way is better, and will not in 10000 times cause any problems.
  6. I would try removing things from your computer part by part, hoping thaf you don't have to replace the true guts of it. Remove things part by part until you can PoST. If not you're boned, and will likely have to replace the motherboard. If you have another computer handy test the PSU in that.
  7. Noctuas are never overkill. If I could, I'd replace the stock intel fan that comes on their heatsinks with a noctua fan.
  8. Waiting for a 3570k and a z77 sabertooth. Should be here in a week or less I hope. My old motherboard died, wont post and ASUS denied my RMA request.
  9. Oh, and I pledged quite awhile ago, can't wait for the alpha. This is the first game in a long time that will bring thousands more PC gamers into the fold, very exciting stuff.
  10. Probably not. There will be a lot of optimization for star citizen, and newer cards will simply perform better. That said, it will perform nicely. If your new rig can run far cry 3 at max settings, it will run at least at medium in star citizen.
  11. I can get behind this I suppose. More community interaction is always a good thing. Soon as I am done repairing my rig I'll probably join.
  12. The same way that painting fans decreases performance.
  13. This is definitely a PSU issue, only thing I can even remotely reccomend is to undervolt everything, as far down as it can go. Other than that, it's time for a new power supply. Oh, and get the modular gold, it will save yourself some headaches I promise.
