  1. First time ordering from LTT Store. Purchased a WAN hoodie during the Black Friday deals, awesome discount. Curious if anyon else has issues when they ship stuff out. It appears during the craze, someone mistyped the shipping address for my order and used my billing address. Which is a UPS mailbox I used for my business. Not a problem, but I specifically put my residence for the ship-to address which I can confirm is on my order. Now, when I ship stuff out, I have to ensure that the address is correct. Which, to no fault of the staff, Black Friday was slammed busy. I understand. But, to tell me to contact UPS to change the ship-to address seems like a bad response.
  2. Not sure if this would be the right place for this but; Looking for a solution that would mirror the screen of a laptop/computer to two separate TVs at the same time. I can do wired Cat6, but I'd prefer a wireless solution. This is for a customer, and they currently have a Crestron solution that is clunky and not working 100%. A lot of frames drop and at any time at least one of the TVs drops off and comes back quite a few times.
  3. I'm assuming they couldn't get the live footage up from the event? Its almost 6pm Eastern Time here and no videos at all were posted on Floatplane, Youtube, or Twitch.
  4. Go to 8x8.com They have great pricing and support.
  5. I mean 15 inch wouldn't be too bad. Its just some rolling project pictures and showcases then a quick video.
  6. Not bad. I like my anker for my Surface Pro though. It's lasted over a year now.
  7. So, I've got a dilemma on my hands. We are running a small booth at a business expo in a little over a week. Was just told I can't share power with the table/booth next to us. Nor can we use the outlets on the walls next to our booth. Why is this an issue? Here's why: We are going to be running a small presentation on random/auto-play. The expo is expected to last 4-6 hours. I have no battery banks that will last that long, nor any that have a 120v plugin. So, I'm looking in part for two things; One, a monitor that is 19 inches and LED with lower power consumption, and two, a battery bank that will last at least 4-6 hours for just the monitor. The content will be streaming as a second monitor to my Surface Pro. My surface pro will last 8 hours on a charge. On top of that, I can charge my surface pro by my Anker battery bank with no issues. Any ideas or suggestions on completing this task would be extremely helpful.
  8. Citrix XenDesktop is what I was thinking of. And yes, I know its enterprise. My company has more than a few users. And additional users I need to establish external access for. Citrix is the perfect solution.
  9. Looking for an operating system, other than Windows Server, that will accommodate something similar to RDP sessions. But, being that I can just grab a simple thin client or minimal hardware PC and connect across a network to the host and load a desktop with simple apps. Is there something like this? I remember some schools/doctors offices have this and it seems fine for the basic stuff.
  10. Very good points. So, if I were to go with a piece, it looks like the Roku would be a good choice, as I don't want to just go with one service primarily. It does look like you can get additional apps for it as well. Also, I thought the Roku 4 was the latest Roku device, with the ability to stream 4k.
  11. Unfortunately, only 1 RAID setup can be done. It was a fairly cheap card back in the day when I got it. Though, I may want to upgrade in the future, at this time, I wasn't planning on changing the raid card.
  12. The reason is it even asking for a format, is because it is a blank drive. For example, the blueprints of a house are just blueprints, without the house being built. The formatting of the drive for the first time, gives the data a structure to where the boundaries (capacity of the drive) are.
  13. Honestly, unless you had data on the drive previously, a quick format will suffice. A regular format is only good for a used drive with data because it writes 0's to the drive.
  14. Replacing the drives on my system would require re-installing everything because I would have to delete the RAID and create a new one with the larger drives. The RAID card doesn't support bumping capacity like that. Otherwise I would stagger a hard drive upgrade.
  15. It'll get worse until Apple releases a fix to block them from gaining access.
  16. I've come to a point where I'm using about 85-90% of my 1TB hard drive capacity for games/content. Now, I've got them in RAID 1 for redundancy, so that is 2x 1TB hard drives. My issue is that I don't want to just add another hard drive (or two for another RAID 1) and nor do I want to add even more drives for a RAID 5 or RAID 10. I was thinking of the option to spin up another VM on my server and install the programs/content to that as external storage. I have plenty of space on the server and a quad GB nic. How well would this work? Any recommendations or objections?
  17. A lot of people have the chromecast for their vote. Is it because it is the cheapest option?
  18. This Post is Reserved. This will be where good, strong and valid points for the devices will be showcased.
  19. So, for doubt that I will ever pull away from using my media PC to display content to my TV. I know that there are many good options out there. But then there are options like Apple TV which are over double the cost for a streaming product. Is it even worth it? What are your opinions? I have the following subscriptions, since we don't watch cable TV in our house, I only pay for Comcast Business, and also could not get business TV. - Hulu - Netflix - Amazon Prime - Sling TV Other than that, nothing else for TV. What are your opinions and comments on this?
  20. I'm not really sure either. A buddy of mine is an electrician, and said that the older wiring could be an issue. So as to when the air is on, the extra interference causes enough of an issue to create a jump across circuits. I have no idea what he is talking about.
  21. So, oddly enough, I do use powerline, even though most of my tech is hard-wired, with the exception of my wife's laptop. Now, powerline is a great way to go, if you don't like wireless, and you can't just run a cable, like me, because you rent. So, powerline it is. Some powerline adapters even support up to 1gbps connections and faster now! But me, nope. Still on the old 500mbps from Actiontec. Now, I do like the brand and quality of these, but there is something that perplexes me at my new residence. One adapter is downstairs, and pulls the connection from my network switch. One adapter is upstairs and feeds the connection to my daughter's media TV. So, how powereline adapters work, they run data across your power cables in your walls, through your breaker box, and to the other adapter(s) in the power lines. Very effective actually, had no problems with them at my old place. This new place...is very...odd...it is a nice place, but confused on the wiring.... They have a terrible signal/link when the air conditioner is off....but when the air conditioner is on, they are excellent...Not sure why this is, but it is certain. Anyone else have an odd experience with powerline adapters?
  22. These laptops are stationary, and never move. They are basically desktops now, always plugged in. The customer used to move them alot but now has a permanent office and they stay in one spot. I need them to stay powered on for patch management and remote access.

    Windows 8.1

Hello, Another perplexing issue I've run into. One of my clients has three laptops, all the same model, they are Dell Inspiron's I believe. One of them is Windows 10, because he wanted to test Windows 10. Don't know why, but it is what it is. The other two laptops are Windows 8.1 Standard. Now, all three have the same issue: - When logged off and sitting at the login screen, computer will eventually go into sleep/hibernate/turn off I'm not sure which one it is, but I know it happens because my remote software's connection to the PC gets disconnected. So, the following is already checked: - Set to high performance mode in the power options - Set to disabled sleep/hibernate on AC/Battery - Set to disable hybrid sleep - Set to disable hard drive sleep Now, I checked these setting today, in person, so I know they are the same. Just got back to the office, and now they are offline again. EXCEPT, for one. Which is the front desk computer, running Windows 7 Home; Oddly enough, I've never had problems with this computer, as it runs the connection for spiceworks to report back to our servers for monitoring and support. Am I missing something here?
  24. Yes, it says limit to 1 physical CPU. I'm Running on a Dell Poweredge 2900.
