  1. So I was doing some more testing, It crashed the witcher 3 . . .
  2. Ok so Im super confused, my Gpu passed Superposition benchmark on High and Extreme with ease, I went back to Heaven and it passed with no freeze at scene 19 and SOME stutters but not as many, this is all after uninstalling GPU tweak 2, I went back into Fortnite and crashed the same way as usual so I went through all my crash logs one by one and looked for consistent errors, the main one is "LogD3D11RHI: Timed out while waiting for GPU to catch up. (0.5 s)" which from googling seems to be a common error in UE4 games and "LogRenderTargetPool:Warning: r.RenderTargetPoolMin exceeded 404/400 MB (ok in editor, bad on fixed memory platform)" caught my eye as well. . . Im still going to test the GPU in my house mates PC to make double sure but what do you guys think about these odd results ??
  3. downloading timespy and Superposition now, GPU tweak has been uninstalled, Updated drivers last night to latest for fortnite.
  4. I'm going to put it in my house mates PC but he's only got a 550w Psu, Should be ok yeah??
  5. CPU: I5 7600k @ 4.6 MOBO: Asus Prime Z270-a Ram: 16gb Kingston hyperX GPU: Asus GTX1070 strix PSU: Corsair HX750i 3x SSD 1x HDD
  6. So I very recently purchased a Asus Gtx 1070 strix and it has recently been causing games to freeze and crash (Fortnite and Mass Effect Andromeda), I was unsure about the graphics cards involvement in the crashes cause of Fortnites Early access nature and MEA's track record of being buggy af, I noticed repeated references to the graphics card in a Fortnite Crash log, Something about Dx 11 time out waiting for GPU to catch up??. Anyway I ended up downloading unigine Heaven and ran the benchmark, freeze at the end of scene 19, turned off the OC tune in Asus GPU tweak2 and ran it again, same result, same freeze point. soo after having the GPU do this I did some research about signs of a faulty card and I defiantly have some of them but before I got full RMA I guess I wanna see if I've missed anything. So please guys, Should I try something else? is there a test I should run? or does it just sound busted and I should do the RMA??
  7. I own the Evga 970 FTW+ and I haven't had a single problem with it, can play pretty much anything and record/stream at 1080p 60 fps and I haven't touched the overclock from factory as of yet
  8. I own this case and have my H100i Gtx TOP mounted in push/pull config AND its completely silent the problem is the stock fans, their lowest speed is 1600rpm, you'll need to replace them if you want silence
  9. No one can tell you what YOU should get but we can give you some guidance. go to https://pcpartpicker.com, search by individual part, in your case gpu and start adding filters. in your case start by adding a price limit and maybe 4gb+ of VRAM since you're going to be rendering, then look at your options and decide from there
  10. Think about gpus tho guys. they got DDR5 or something and the inbuilt ram doesn't take up THAT much space, Rip out the DIMS and line up 12 RAM chips (approx number) where they used to be. . this is all in theory btw, It could just fail hopelessly Think about phones or any mobile device even, RAMs gotta go somewhere in those tiny things so why not have a decent slab of RAM on a mobo?
  11. Random Idea/Possibility, What IF you could buy a Mobo with internal RAM (kinda like a gpu) with room for expansion. For example you buy X- mobo with 16Gb of internal Ram with a max of 32Gb expanded, the Internal RAM would work faster on its own but be throttled to whatever the expansion Rams Speed is if people need more. Im just picturing a ITX mobo with no DIMM slots with internal RAM or something crazy like that
  12. yeah I was thinking that but putting the H100i in was such a pain and I don't really wanna take it back out to swap some fans over although I might do that at a later time, is there any software or tricks to make them spin slower, its a msi z97s krait edition mobo?
  13. So recently I installed a Corsair H100i Gtx into my Define R5 top mount, push pull config, I have the water block in a cpu_fan header and the "push" fans off the Y splitter from the block, the "pull" fans are in Sys_fan 1,2 headers and I just cant get them to spin any slower . .. they're rated at 2400rpm and after tinkering in the bios/fan curves the least I can have them is 1600rpm which is STILL pretty noisy so is there a way to slow them down outside of the bios?? or should I look into different fans (these are the Stock ones that came bundled with the H100i)
  14. yeah nah thats cool, Im not the one who has the AMD gear, its my mate that was wondering and I was like "lets go see what the forums say about it" so it was 90% theoretical on my part and he already has it and wasn't sure if it was doing it but having said that he's not as much as a pc gamer as me so doesn't REALLY matter in the end
  15. ok that's pretty cool, man I love this forum, so much things to know cheers guys you're all awesome
