  1. Sry, I meant laptops with 2060 gpu’s usually don’t come with a g-sync panel (at least in my country), I’m going to edit the post so it’s more clear
  2. Hi , After Christmas I’m going to buy a gaming laptop and I can’t decide if g-sync is worth the premium price on a laptop, forcing me to choose the 2070 max-q over the super version in order to stay on budget. I’ve been using g-sync for the past 5+ years on my desktop monitor so I’m kinda used to it and I HATE tearing and V-sync but I have no idea how bad or noticeable it is on laptops (especially @144hz+,1080p). I know there are laptops that support g-sync only via the hdmi/display port but since I’m going to live for many months oversea, buying/bringing an external g-sync monitor is not an option. How bad is tearing on a laptop? For the same money I could get 2070 max q (~100w+ models) + 10750h and gsync OR 2070 super max q (not sure about tdp ) +10850h and no gsync (the laptops I’m comparing are from different brands due to poor availability in my country). The main focus is will be gaming(games like LoL, tarkov, monster hunter, the Witcher3, cyberpunk...), compiling and coding.(maybe some photoshop/ illustrator on my free time but definitely not a priority) I’m not considering laptops with the 2060 gpu cause they usually don’t come with g-sync panels (at least in my country)so I decided to compare higher specs models within my budget. Thx for your input
  3. Hi, "audiophile" noob here. ( I'm sorry in advance for the bad grammar, english is not my native language) I just got a new pair of sennheiser pc37x headset which has a built-in volume knob that i use to control the sound level while keeping windows at 100%. At the moment, I'm using my old sound blaster play3! usb sound card to boost the volume and the microphone gain however, even when using custom parametric eq (on equalizer APO), I feel like the sounds are too clustered and muffled. For this reason, after comparing many reviews and models for my budget, I decided to order the sennheiser gsx 300 dac/amp (I know it's very entry-level) which should arrive next week. This wil be my first ever experience with this kind of tool. Now, how should I use the volume knobs? Should I keep windows and the headset at 100% and just use the dac/amp? should I work with both the headphone's and the dac/amp's knob ? Also, any tip for a noob in this area? I know my equipment is not exactly audiophile-level but this is all I can afford atm plus I have 0 experience on this sector. Thank you in advance for your input
  4. Yeah I think I'm going to see what Ryzen will have to offer since the 9xxxk series from intel was pretty disappointing and I feel like the 6 Cores i5/i7 are a bit too expensive for what they offer(8700k is like 450€ in Italy )
  5. mostly on newer games. Older games (1 or more years old) are usually fine
  6. Hi I was wondering if I should upgrade my 4670k since I feel it's getting old. I mostly play videogames at 1440p (w/980ti) and occasionally I do some light video/photo editing but ,despite the video resolution, my cpu is always at 80/90 or even 100% load in most games causing occasional stuttering. my pc parts: 4670k @ 4.3ghz (can't get much higher) 16 Gb ram 1600 mhz 980ti+ accelero xtreme III (light oc) monitor 1440p 144hz gsync To be honest stuff like Firefox, office and windows still feels very smooth and I'm still very happy with the average fps at 1440p... but always seeing almost if not max load on my cpu still bugs me a bit. Do you think it's time to upgrade my cpu or I'm still fine? Thanks
  7. hi, I'm installing an arctic accellero xtreme III kit on my 980ti but I'm not sure where to put the extra heatsinks and where the tape to insulate. Thanks in advance for your help
  8. Hi, I was wandering if I should connect my headphones jacks ( audio and microfone) on my mobo using the included combo cable or if I should just connect them to the asigned ports... Any advantages/drawbacks doing one the other? Thanks
  9. Hi, currently I have a pair of razer usb headphones that are way too loud so I have to lower the ingame volume and if I try to change their settings via synapse it automatically changes the Windows volume. No matter what i try (change synapse volume, Windows volume, game volume, lower db via 3rd party software etc..) my recordings end up almost mute on YouTube and twitch. I'm not familiar with 3.5mm headphones on pc so my question is: does the volume wheel on them (like the one on the gsp 300) just lowers the headphones volume output making me able to record at high volume? also, any 100-150€ 3.5 jack headphones suggestion ? (I know a proper "non-gaming" headphones+ modmic would be the best option but it would be too expensive) ty for your time
  10. Yeah, But I need to hear it from someone else to be sure
  11. Thank you for you answer, let's see if someone else agrees with you ( and me xd)
  12. Hi, I'm planning on upgrading my pc which currently has: cpu : i5 4670k @ 4.4 Ghz cpu cooler: cm hyper 212 mobo : msi gaming z97 g43 ram: corsair 1600Mhz (4x4Gb) gpu: 980ti reference psu: corsair 600w monitor: asus gaming 1440p 144Hz But Im not sure what should I upgrade first... My budget is around 900/1000 euro which could buy me: gpu: 1080ti asus gaming OR cpu: i7 8700k cpu cooler: noctua d15 OR water AIO mobo: asrock z370 pro4 OR extreme4 (I wont do crazy OC anyway) ram: ballistix 2400Mhz (2x8Gb) + case: fractal meshify c (getting tired of the z11) psu: corsair 750w (more future proof than my 600w) To be honest, I'm happy with my 980ti since it can still perform very @1440p but I feel like my i5 is holding it back... + I occasionally do some video rendering and the i5 takes ages to complete tasks. My main focus is still gaming but i think the new cpu/mobo/etc would be the smartest buy... what do you think? thanks
