  1. Also there was no salvaging them. When I opened the dryer, they were in a bunch of pieces and had been magnetized to inside of it. It was awful.
  2. Please help me. I accidentally washed and dried mine a couple of nights ago and they were super sentimental to me. They’ve been discontinued for a while now and outside of random eBay listings, they’re impossible to find. If you have a pair in whatever condition, please let me know. I will pay very good for them.
  3. Thank you all for the respects. I feel better after realizing I can replace it for a small $50 now lol. Time to hang this one up.
  4. This is unfortunate. I had just started running this thing again after getting my 980 AMP Extreme back that I had let my friend borrow for a couple of years. It's done great for weeks. Everything was perfect. It wasn't OC'd or anything. I knew something was up a few days ago. I was playing WoW and it kept freezing up on settings it should handle fine. The 16GBs of RAM were barely being used. Tonight I got in from work and the wifi adapter kept cutting out. Then it was freezing up when I tried to open the network settings...just real weird random stuff I've always experienced with dying CPUs. I restarted the thing and it was working fine. I went to finish downloading a WoW update and there it went. I tried to start it back up and my Z68 FTW was giving the dreaded "C" code. I prayed it was the cheap Cougar PSU so I hooked up the HX750I from my 8350 / Fury Nitro build. Kept doing it. I took the water block off and checked to see if my pins somehow decided to bend themselves. They're all great lol. Everything else works. Fans spin like crazy. Everything is powered on. RAM is seated well. I have absolutely no reason to believe it's the board...especially with the previous warning signs. Honestly I'm glad it wasn't the board...things a future wall hanger. Just sad lol. I loved this 2600K. It was the first CPU ever where I was blown away by the performance when it came out.
  5. You can argue it but you're grasping at straws. You only need a couple inches of clearance. If it's right up against the wall, just pull the case out slightly or tilt it. No matter how you look at it, it's a much faster and simpler method. There are no scenarios where it isn't.
  6. You're amazing lol. Upon further investigation, it's basically the exact same rounded Phillips headed screw I already got, but shorter. I wish I wasn't so OCD about the dumbest things.
  7. From a functional, standpoint it's fine lol. I used a belt clip screw off an old kydex holster. Not having the right thing drives me crazy though. What sucks is I probably had some of the exact ones laying around. I've let all my spare PC parts and accessories get thrown out over the years... expecting to never get into this stuff again.
  8. I let someone borrow my 980 AMP Extreme card for a couple of years. I finally got it back the other day when they bought a prebuilt. I pulled it's original home out of the closet and stuck it back in. I noticed crazy sag and finally got it out tonight to straighten the bracket some. Then I realized the damn bracket screw is missing. Anyone know where I can get the exact right screw? This card is super rare in North America. It's one of the few parts I'm pretty sentimental with and would like to keep it as original as possible. Sorry for the bad pics.
  9. Look at the InWin 303, 309, and Airforce. They did it. Again, not talking about swing out. They're actually fairly common these days. I'm talking about literally pulling the handle and lifting it straight up off the case. It requires less clearance than literally any other design.
  10. Also look at InWin. I forgot to mention them but they have a few cases with a similar car door design to the ones I mentioned. I believe it started with the budget (by InWin standards) 303. Only real difference is it's a push button, instead of pulling like the Corsair or lifting like the Cougar. It's on tempered glass though. Point being, I don't think a minor expense is really a valid reason. It can't cost that much to come up with something other than simple thumbscrews. There are a billion cases out there that are exactly the same. I feel like that one major quality of life feature would sell enough cases to make up the difference in production costs. It's easy for people to say "Nobody cares about stuff like that. What's wrong with thumbscrews?". Corsair just brought back a $200 case that doesn't use any premium materials though so there has to be some kind of demand.
  11. Omg that makes so much sense. Outside of people like myself who just love playing around on the inside, workstations are the one of the few scenarios where people have to get inside on a frequent basis. Again, I just feel it's so convenient that I can't understand why it's not more common.
  12. Lol I'm not talking about hinged doors. Look at at the pictures. You literally pop the latch and the whole panel comes off. You can take the panels off In under a second with basically no clearance.
  13. Interesting. I used to spend a lot of money on building computers for fun, back when it was a much more affordable hobby...which is crazy to believe today. I was always in and out of them to borrow drives, ram, TPM mounted code readers, motherboard mounted USB sticks for WS boards, sound cards, wifi cards, header cards...just all the random stuff you forget to buy when doing new builds. Fortunately almost all of that stuff is built into the boards these days. I suppose if I just built something for actually using, I probably wouldn't be in it much either. If you move around a lot like I used to, being able to quickly pop them off for added protection is also super convenient. Plus I have one functional arm so I usually carry the 780T by the frame. It's a lot simpler when you don't gotta remove screws or swivel and lift it off hinges. To me it's just a quality of life thing that I can't understand why it's not more common. I can't imagine it costs that much to do it. These two latches use entirely different mechanisms for the same function, but both are incredibly simple.
  14. I just got back into PC's after several years away...had to take a break when tempered glass and RGB went nuts. I'm so blown away by the cost of graphics cards. I was around for the first real mining boom back in like 2014 or so, and never thought we'd see the GPU prices and availability get like that again. I also collect firearms and it kinda reminds me of the current ammo shortage. I was around for the 2013 shortage...and just the same, I never thought we'd see a worse one. I was so mistaken in both cases. Quick rant aside...there's one thing about this modern PC industry that has shocked me even more than the cost of graphics cards. I came back with so much excitement to see what new cases are on the market. I was sure that car door latch side panels would have caught on by now. I was definitely wrong on that. There's still only two options I can find, and I already have both...the Corsair 780T and the Cougar Panzer Max. I honestly believe the Panzer Max is only still around because they're already making the shells for the other Panzer cases. The 780T was discontinued a good while back. Corsair started selling them again on their website within the past couple of weeks though. I don't get it. If you've never tried either of these cases, they're game changers. I've owned a few great full towers. VA8003BWS, HAF X, 750D, 760T, 780T, Panzer Max, and Panzer Evo...in that order. The only two I still have are the ones with car door style latches. I know I just typed a novel to get a small point across but still. They're incredibly secure, incredibly convenient, and incredibly durable. It's literally as simple as lifting a latch and the whole thing just pops off with it. It's the fastest opening design ever made.
  15. Corsair 780T and Cougar Panzer Max are the perfect cases... regardless of age. The 780T has been around for almost 10 years now...which is incredible to believe. It was actually discontinued a year or so ago and just brought back. They started selling the white one on their site again a few days ago. I believe for good reason. The layout has been around since the 750D. I believe there's a reason the 780T was brought back though, and not the 750D or 760T. It's an old design but very functional and spacious. It's huge, bulky, and gets heavy...which sucks if you're moving around a lot with it. It's not like a Cosmos or CaseLabs though where you never wanna have to drag it anywhere. With all that said, the best and most underutilized feature in PC cases is the quickly removable car door style side panels. It is the most convenient way of opening your computer up ever in history. That's the reason I love the Cougar Panzer Max so much. It's an almost equally bulky 780T with a slightly less spacious interior, but superior cable management features. Plus it has better carrying handle. I'm honestly convinced that the 780T was their inspiration for the Panzer Max. Even the I/O has the exact same stuff. Anyways yeah... can't go wrong with either case. Car door side panels change lives.
  16. Lol my bad...meant 2600K. I didn't mean Retro as in a dual Opteron server build from 20 years ago. I meant retro as in still functional but some of the parts are over a decade old now lol. I've just kinda upgraded certain things here and there over the years.
  17. The first one is a 2600K on a super nice Z68 FTW, with a 980 AMP Extreme...in a kinda amazing Cougar Panzer Max. The second one is an 8350 on an M5A99FX Pro 2.0, with a Fury Nitro...in a really amazing Corsair 780T. During this whole ordeal of getting these out an running again, I noticed the Panzer Max is missing one of the rubber feet pads. I know I could just buy a roll of adhesive pads and cut a new one out but the thought of that drives me crazy. I need the OEM. Has anyone ever tried to buy parts from Cougar and actually succeeded?
  18. I just got some Monsoon Chaingun fittings to replace the garbage Swiftech put on my H320 X2 Prestige. I'm looking for something that won't pop off at the swivel. I already have the Monsoon Chainguns as mentioned but they look a little big for the Monsoon swivels from what I've saw. Then again, they still share the same design language though and Monsoon is probably the most trusted fittings company out there besides Bitspower...and maybe Barrow so yeah. I just want a 45 degree rotary for 3/8 5/8 tubing that looks good with blue Chaingun fittings...and can be trusted lol. If all else fails, I'll probably just stick with the tiny Monsoon swivels.
  19. Yeah I eventually decided upon that. I just like how tightly these Swiftech fittings hold the tubing. Obviously their Lok-Tite series is built pretty much the same way, except that you can't get the swivel adapter and fitting in one solid piece. Plus I've read countless reviews about the same issue I've had on these unique Prestige unit fittings. I'll probably just buy some swivel adapters to go with the Chaingun fittings I already bought.
  20. I have an H320x2 Prestige sitting around that's been through absolute hell. Cracked block replacements, blown led replacements, many tubing changes with drains and refills...anyways! This thing came with custom fittings that aren't available anywhere else. On the block it has dual 45 degree swivel fittings and they work just fine. There are absolutely no leaks or anything. One of them has a very loose swivel though. It's so loose in fact that I can pop it apart at the swivel easier than ANY quick disconnect I've ever used. Inside is an o ring and then a metal ring that holds the two pieces together. I've tried EVERYTHING i can think of to expand that metal ring JUST enough to get a tighter grip but have had no luck. Like I said, it DOESN'T leak. I stay with my friend's family though and there are often two small kids around who love to touch stuff. Having the build in a Corsair 780T with super easy open side panels doesn't help. I ordered some non swivel Monsoon Chaingun fittings but I own all the Swiftech AIOs and would like to keep things as original as possible. Does anyone know a way to tighten the swivel so it won't pop off as easily? These are truly amazing fittings and like I said, unique to this piece so I really wanna keep them in tact...despite the fact they are covered in scratches from all the plyer marks lol. Also I know there is always a risk when kids who wanna pull on tubing are around but I mean this one just pops off wayyy too easy.
  21. Ah I see. Mine is for the three pin without the blank space...basically like a non PWM case fan header. I did end up finding some pre wired headers like I need though. Hopefully with a batch of them, the first led set you linked me, and some solderless snap on connectors I'll be set.
  22. My only worry is that I can't really solder worth anything as my left hand/arm is mostly paralyzed and has no feeling. I see they have solderless ends for the cut strips and wires to meet. Do they make wires that come with pre attached headers though?
  23. The LEDs in my Swiftech H320 X2 blew and the controller uses the little 3 pin headers for lighting. I'd prefer not to buy a separate RGB controller and my mobo is a Z68 so so it definitely doesn't have it's own. Does anyone know where one can find a 3pin 5V addressable RGB strip?
  24. Why is this my best job ever? Well because it's a 700 watt completely NON modular power supply with lots of cables, and it's all in a case that while technically a "full tower", it's really just a mid tower chassis with a huge outer shell. Oh and the board uses dual 8 pin CPU headers...ooh scary indeed! Still I guess the PSU shroud helps more than you will ever know. Oh and I can't show the back yet cause I'm out of cable ties ? Still...tell me it's pretty!
