  1. So either Bridge or AP should work? I'll try something out tonight!
  2. Currently got our modem in the living room (first floor). Our WiFi is stable, but when we go to the second floor it's unstable and third floor it's non exsistent (also not needed on the third floor). I still got an old router (Netgear R7000) laying around that I want to use to get WiFi on the second (and maybe a bit on the third) floor. I'll be hooking it up on the second floor using a LAN cable. Ideally I want to use one connection (modem) only. What would be my best bet? I heard multiple options; acces point, bridge, extender, repeater. But honestly I'm a bit lost on what road to pick. Could anyone of you lead me into the good direction?
  3. I know this is a really late reply, but recently got a new cooler, wanted to see what I can do with my CPU and found this post. I haven't overclocked since I had my 4770k, so that has been ages. Currently used the MSI Game boost, which gives me the following stats: I started going for 4.9GHz in the bios, but somehow it never booted correctly (must've done something wrong). Do you think it's achievable to get around the 4.9GHz range with lower voltage? Or am I safe with having it at 86 max after 20min of stressing Prime? I don't need 4.9GHz and am perfectly fine with this, just want to see what I can gain with not too much effort. Also, I got the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360mm, might give you more information about my cooling capacity.
  4. Will try that tomorrow, thanks!
  5. 1. Corsair H100i, already found out that might need a replacement after 8 years xd 2. When I turn it on the temps go to 100C+ straight away after 10sec of Prime95, when it's turned off I get a max of 80C 3. Cool, will try tomorrow thanks for the tip!
  6. 1. Was testing MW2 campaign, but it's almost the same on Vanguard MP. Get 110-120FPS, 1920x1080 and no V-Sync. 2. Ah cool, I believe it goes up like 2.0 GHz seems like a lot that's why I was thinking about it. 3. Cool will try thanks!
  7. Hi all, While gaming my CPU (i7 9700k) goes to 80% usage while my GPU (2080) only goes to 20%. I'm curious if either my CPU or GPU is malfunctioning, and want to try to turn on Turbo Boost on my CPU to maybe see an increase in my FPS/performence. The only problem is that my CPU will get too hot (98-100+C) when I try to stress it. I got a couple of questions: 1. Is it possible that my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU this much? 2. Will it be less with Turbo Boost enabled? 3. What is the best way/program(s) to benchmark if my CPU and/or GPU is malfunctioning? Curious what you guys think. Might go buy a new cooler (mine is a bit old) and turn on Turbo Boost if that might help.
  8. Astro is the brand of my headset, sorry. I turned off Turbo Boost, got 58C steady now. Also did a reroll to Windows 10 to see if that fixes something, so far so good. It's a shame cause I really liked W11, but rather have a working system
  9. Okay i've done some cleaning and testing. While gaming I did go towards the 90C, so turned of Turbo Boost and now i'm in a steady 60 (max). Somehow my Astro still gets disconnected, I even turned off a setting on my USB at device manager that says the computer can turn the USB off to save power. So i'm still confused as hell...
  10. Fair enough. Will do that, thanks! Will post if it's fixed or not.
  11. Hi! Starting yesterday my Astro's will disconnect when playing CoD. Astro said it might be cause my CPU is asking too much and my system will ditch USB ports. So today I tried a benchmark, and saw tat my CPU is at 4.6GHz (turbo boost due to high performence). But also that my temps we're pretty high. Idle is around 35/40C and when full load with Prime it goes to 100C. I got a Corsair H100i as a cooler, with 2 fans. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Going to clean the inside todat, but not sure if that will solve it all. Is putting Turbo off a huge setback? As in, would I see performence decrease? Thanks for your replies in advance, I will be to the store to get some dust sprays.
  12. I've updated the bios. Turned off Game boost, but left on intel turbo boost (as a test). In Prime95 with a Blend test it gets between 70 - 75 degrees (4.6GHz), with 107W. This should be fine right?
  13. Thanks for the information! I will try that later today. Do you might think something could be up with my cooler? Considering I did a cleaning, and put on new thermal paste, and undust it 2 weeks ago? Just to make sure.. Idle temps around 25 should be fine. 100% load at 3.6GHz 65 degrees don't look that afwul either imo.
  14. Ah okay sorry! I might mean the "Game boost" function in my motherboard bios.
  15. Might it be "Game Boost" instead of hyper-threading? I'm using a MSI z390 gaming pro carbon. I thought I did update the BIOS, but now that I had another look, it's not. 105W is also correct for that amount of heat?
  16. As far as I know I did tighten it correct. The same way it has always been before cleaning it. Headers are connected and at max. What do you mean with your last sentence?
  17. SOLVED: updated bios, turned off game boost. Now i'm running 4.6GHz at 70 degrees with 107W. Ever since Warzone came out I've had issues with my system. First I got all fatal errors, did a fresh windows install, and those went away. Now I got a new problem: random blue screens. First step I did was run a Windows Memory Diagnostic. This went fine without one error. When looking in the event manager it says I get an "event 41 kernel power" error. Looking this up it could be anything honestly... So I changed a lot of software side settings, and the BSOD were less frequent. After this I digged a bit deeper into my CPU/temps. I did some testing, and (I think) I've found the issue. While doing a CPU-Z stress test, my CPU uses 105 watts and get's 76 degrees. When I do the stress test with Prime96 (blend or small) it fails in 3 minutes and my cpu get's around 96 degrees. When I turned off game boost and intel hyper threading in the bios, my temps are as followed: CPU-Z: 45 degrees with 47 watts @ 3.6GHz Prime95 Small FTT: 65 degrees with 86 watts @ 3.6GHz Prime95 blend: 50 degrees with 54 watts The cooler i'm using is a Corsair H100i with (fresh) cooler master paste. The case has good airflow, since it doesn't mind if I take off the side panel or not. Also no loose cables or anything that could cover the airflow. My room temp is normal (23-26 degrees). The fans are not blocked by anything. I will see how my system preforms with the game boost and hyper threading turned off. But still this doesn't seem to be right. A CPU should be able to get normal temp's with stock settings right? Do you guys know if there is any way to tweak my CPU (maybe if overclock it by hand?)? Or maybe you guys think that there is a different problem causing this?
  18. Recently I had issues with windows in a software way and decided to do a fresh install. So I bought a new SSD and installed Windows 10. Besides that I did not change anything about my system. After the clean install another problem was on the horizon. Random BSOD and restarts were happening. After looking at the event it said: kernel power 41. No clue what that was so I went on the internet looking for a solution. Some people said I had to change the power plan, fast start up, delete antivirus, ran prime etc. I've done all that (except for a new windows install, since one guy also mentioned that it could be a software problem). Currently i'm doing a memory test which is at 90% with no problems detected. Do any of you guys know a solution that might help? Had this problem in the past and fixed it? Let me know!
  19. Sweet! Cheers man! Seems easier then I tought it would be haha
  20. So what I can do, please correct me if i'm wrong: 1. Make a USB boot drive. 2. Swap the CPU/Motherboard. 3. Boot the PC on the USB boot drive. 4. Hit clean install on C drive (Boot SSD). 5. And log in with my Microsoft account so my Windows 10 will be activated Is that about it?
  21. Why the Aorus above the MSI? When I compare them on almost every site, they seem the same? I have no clue tbh
  22. I want to upgrade my CPU and Motherboard. At this moment I got w10 installed (with my personal account). I want to do a clean install on my boot drive, but don't want to erase my all of my disks (I got one for my games, and one for my programs). Is there a way to manage this? I think what might work: disconnect all drives except boot drive, and then clean install windows 10 via a USB? Then make sure everything works fine, and plug in the other drives one by one? If there is a different/other way, fill me in! I don't want to lose everything that is on the other drives
