  1. What if I got a third party 12VHPWR cable like a cable mod one or a corsair one. Would that be ideal?
  2. Also what I gathered from the link above that both PSUs have type 3 PCIE, so should be fine, no?
  3. I feel like there is very valuable information here, but we haven't come to a conclusion, should I take a picture of the old PCI-E cable and the new one? So you see that they look identical or does that not matter?
  4. Excuse my inability to understand what's in the link and please instruct me, should I use it or no?
  5. My old on is RM650x (2018) and my new one is RM1000x (2021). The cables look identical. I also labeled the old one so I don't get them mixed up.

  7. Hey, hope you are well. I have 2 questions regarding my 4090 (Zotac GAMING Trinity OC): 1- My new PSU only came with 3 PCI-E cables, when I need 4 for the GPU adapter. Is it OK to use one from an older PSU? 2- What the hell is this cable that came with the 4090? Thanks for your help!
  8. Is this one the same as yours? And does this have good timing? I understand CAS latency and speed well but not timing, IDK what is considered good timing… G.SKILL Flare X Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000) Desktop Memory Model F5-6000J3040G32GX2-FX5 DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000) Timing 30-40-40-96 CAS Latency 30 Voltage 1.40V
  9. Thanks for that. I will change it to 6000 now. edit: Which 64GB ram do you recommend that has solid timings around the same price
  10. I honestly think the 7800X3D will be more than enough for me rn. I don't think 14th gen will tempt me to upgrade or anything. What I currently have is this PC, and it's definitely showing its age on newer released games. On older ones, it of course shreds. Sad to not be using my 2080 TI soon.
  11. Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. Not a bad shout to look for used 3090s. And as for the 6400 ram, I based my pick on this LTT Video. Can I trouble you to look for an article or a video that mentioned that it is preferable not exceeding, 6000mhz with Ryzen?
  12. The prices are not the main concern, I more concerned of buying a CPU/GPU and it getting replaced with a new gen within a short period of time, if longer than that IDC. I also do follow news, but not consistently. Usually when a new gen of GPUs or CPUs drops, I catch up on some video reviews. Other than that, no. And about it being a silly question, I don't think it's that silly hehe. Thanks for the reply.
  13. Hey, hope you are well. Simple question on this one, is it a good time to build a PC or wait? Any CPU/GPU generations that are reported to be good coming out soon? Planning to build this PC but hesitant to pull the trigger. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fkpQZJ Thanks.
  14. Saudi Arabia, if I buy things locally the $1700 spec I have rn in ppt would be around $3000 no joke. dw about it. it is what it is.
  15. actually never mind, I found the Corsair RM750e locally. just changed the list to it.
  16. cool, I will change it. what are the companies that I should stick too for gold rated fully modular in your opinion?
  17. this particular one seems hard to find, at least locally. do you have any other one, or what are the companies that I should stick too for gold rated fully modular in your opinion?
  18. Thanks for the reply. I should've clarified, with shipping plus import fees the $1645.74 turns into $1900+ so pretty much I'm capping the budget with my current build. I changed the budget above. I will change the PSU as others suggested. any other suggestions?
  19. Hey. Hope you are having a good day. I'm looking to get this PC, and would like your opinion on what would you change if you were building this? Use case: Gaming. Nvidia GPU is a must. Also, the point of this post is that I'm looking for mistakes or better-performing parts around the same price. Budget: $1700-$1800. Note: (list is constantly changing due to your suggestions, this is the 2nd time I've posted this thread because my priorities slightly changed and I would like to rethink the whole build) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bullet4Justice/saved/jDgzvK
  20. After months of troubleshooting, the solution for those encountering the same issue I had, in which I was crashing in almost every game. Check in "Event Viewer>Custom Views>Administrative Events" If you are getting errors like "fault module KERNELBASE.dll" or "nvlddmkm cannot be found" or "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered". If you do, then this is what fixed it for me: I saw a YT short of a person reporting the same issues, and he re-applied the thermal paste inside the GPU. Again, GPU not CPU. I opened my 2080 TI and found that the thermal paste volume on the GPU is indeed very low, it has dried significantly as seen here. So I re-applied the thermal paste and the issue is completely fixed now. My theory is that the "hot spot" of the GPU had very little thermal paste got very hot, although the general GPU temp reported in RTSS Rivatuner Statistics Server was fine. I also turned off auto fans from MSI afterburner as it was too passive and let the "hot spot" of the GPU get really high temp without increasing fan speed, so now I'm running at a constant 75% fan speed which is a sweet spot between noise and cooling for this card at least. I don't hear the noise at all while wearing headphones anyway. I hope this helps someone because I was really close to giving up and buying a new GPU when I didn't need to.
  21. About RAM, look at the quote below from Somerandomtechyboi. I'm getting conflicting suggestions. I used to have a cl16 3600 ram in the list, but he told me this is better. About MB, it is god awful, I just realised. I didn't take a thorough look at it earlier. Thanks for the heads-up. About HDD. I'm honestly thinking of removing it completely. I don't think I'll fill up the P5 with it's 2 TB.
  22. Sounds good. I changed the PSU to the Gigabyte P1000GM 1000W Gold, Fully Modular.
  23. I get you and I completely agree but I'm the type of person to only upgrade/build a pc when I have to aka when I struggle to run newer games. this is why my current PC is a 2017 spec bought in 2017, so I don't intend to upgrade for a long time if I buy a PC now.
  24. OK, I changed the ram to the "Neo Forza FAYE 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-4000 CL19 Memory" and the power supply to "Gigabyte P1000GM". good suggestions so far. keep them coming and thanks in advance. note: lowering the budget by a couple hundred isn't a priority I'm just looking for mistakes or better-performing parts around the same price.
