  2. There is only like a $60aud dollar difference between the G1 1070ti and the G1 1080. so which one is the one i buy this weekend? going to be using a AOC 165hz 2560x 1440 g sync monitor.
  3. thanks guys So buy a SSD let him fill it up with junk.
  4. Hey guys , I need to upgrade my dads pc as its almost unusable. I was originally thinking of buying a SSD and using that as a boot drive. But knowing what his like everything will be saved on it and it will fill up. so has anyone have experience with the Seagate ST1000DX001 drives. Are the reliable and how much fast ssd storage is on them?? note his also getting my old mobo board and cpu. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=210_902_1205&products_id=24833
  5. i was considering socket 2011 but seems a bit old and expensive i cant find that asus workstation board at any of the pc shops i go to
  6. that board does look pretty decent, the main purpose of this rig is gamming but i do way to much work at home about 70% gamming and 30% work
  7. yeah i uses solid works for 3d models bit laggy with high detailed model but i think a more powerful 4 core will fix that. i also have a custom loop just never got around to upgrading the mother board and cpu haha
  8. Hey there, I brought a 7970 almost a year ago with the intention of upgraded my mother board and cpu, from a 1090t overclocked to 3.9ghz i havnt poked my head around in the tech news for a while. but i have a budget of about $800 aus Im considering the following parts: MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC Motherboard or Gigabyte Z97X Gaming G1 WIFI Black Edition Motherboard and a 4790k and some memory. I play games about 70% of the time or using programs like auto cad, solid works. autocad inventor. am i heading down the right track or should try a different platform like 2011? also should i just get a 4690k i'll be overclocking as much as possible haha.
  9. If you mount the bay res correctly or with a bit of rubber to absorb the vibration i don't think there would be a noticeable difference. but i would go for the res top, i have read about people getting leaks in bay-res after a year or so, but i'm sure they work fine now
  10. thanks. i think i'll just hold off and buy a 200mm rad i already have two bitfenix fans so will be better bang for my buck
  11. Hi there. I currently have a custom loop with a 360 by 60 thick rad, which is cooling both my cpu and gpu with not very high overclocks. I have 3 corsair sp quite edition fans running on 7 volts which seems about 700-800rpm. I have seen temps high as 55 degrees on my 7970. Would i see much of an improvement runing 3 more fans in pull? And what fans should i grab in this video linus uses af and sp fans together is this an optimal way of running push pull? (see link) I am worried about temps hitting 60 + as the d5 pumps only rated to 60 degrees or should i just buy a 200mm rad and add that in my loop? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kk7JMOcypus
  12. i will most likely start with a 360 rad then after a while may put a 240 or something in the bottom or around the hard drive cages. the shinobi xl is looking good for me i dont really mind if i have to drill holes in something or even mil something. :)
  13. I have been looking for a new case to buy for a while now and these two seem pretty good value for money is there another cases i have over looked or missed? I will be doing my first watercooling build in the new case a buy so being able to fit a 360 rad is what i'm looking for. I do not mind if i have to mod the case a bit so i'm starting to think something that is metal could be the go. any suggestions on a different case or choose between the shinobi xl or switch 810? Ps this is my first post i hope i'm doing it right :)
