    What about these ultra cheap £30 android tablets? Are they worth it? Its probably not going to leave the room this chromecast is in. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LGUSP82 Like these for exmaple. Its cheap enough to just throw away and replace if a drink gets spilt on it or the screen gets broken.

    They are cheap, made by a trusted company, known to be reliable and the operators will likely be used to them without any extra training.

    It is completely dependent on the coding of the data. The bit rate has nothing to do with measuring the quality. You cant tell the quality of a video from its bit rate.

    Again, the bitrate and FPS are not what defines the clarity or quality of a video.

    Your transcoder/encoder settings are wrong.

    Look up a X264 encoding guide and tune your settings based on the video youre streaming. You should be able to get a semi-decent looking picture (at a low resolution) with the correct settings. Bitrate is not a measure of video or audio quality. Simply plucking bitrates out of thin air with no other information makes literally no sense at all.

    It was pretty bad in Beta. Its essentialy online mode for Need for Speed Underground.The handling is completely unrealistic. It isnt at all a simulation game.

    Virgin isnt riding any exclusivity train. BT, and many other companies offer those speeds as well. Virgin just offers higher speeds over short distances.

    Probably every medium to large ISP is able to offer 1gbps connections if youre willing to pay for them. Virgin Media in the UK will do anything up to 40gbps depending on the distance between your location and their nearest PoP. Google has done nothing new apart from offering them at a lower price (thus a lower quality of service) than how they are currently sold. You get what you pay for.
