Psu does not directly affect performance unless its affecting the stability.

I bet its a pretty low quality unit since you didnt tell us the model name or brand, and with only 375w you are probably pushing it to its limit which isnt good, I would recommend replacing it with a good 550-650w unit.

If amd wants some relevance in a market now is the time. Its damn clear nvidia is just pricing the cards as high as possible so if amd says ya know what 500$ rtx 4080 performance, 400$ rtx 4080gt performance,... then well either nvidia caves or amd is gonna finally fall onto peoples radar for gaming.

And maybe just maybe (and this is extreme positive thinking) they can use said momentum to finally start working on their workstation class products.

Absolutely wait for AMD in November to show their hand. It's less than 2 months away. Even if you don't buy one, it could cause Nvidia to readjust some prices, be it the 40x0 or the 30x0.

The generations for CPU support were split between 6th/7th gen and 8th/9th gen. B150 and B250 are for 6/7, B360 and B365 are for 8/9.

Update your BIOS and you're good to upgrade.

    That's a good idea. Try selling that cpu+Mobo+ram combo for around $300. And get yourself a r9 5900x + a decent x570 board + 16/32gb 3600mhz cl16 kit.

To should sell your existing cpu, mobo, combo and purchase the latest zen3 cpu (5900x).

    Aight:
Remove 3700x Put the 1600 back Update bios Test with the 3700x again. Should do the trick.
If not you may have to get a new motherboard.

Resolution correct? Settings at the same level? Background software on? You have half his RAM.

Honeslty if you're not gaming as much I'd go for a new platform, preferably Ryzen for the cores since you're into video encoding and stuff. They're still killing the gaming front too.

My suggestion would be to either hop into the 2000-series Ryzen if you get a good deal or the 3000- series if you want the latest and greatest. You'd basically need new RAM, DDR4, and a cooler if you don't want the stock version. Any motherboard will do as long as you get the features you want!

    Hey people!

    I'm currently sitting on:
i7 5820K (golden boy clocked to 4.7GHz) Asus X99-s 16GB 3200MHz GTX 1080 850w G2 EVGA yaya pretty good build still by todays standard Though Ryzen's 3000-series is tempting.
I'm basically looking at the 3900X.

I do gaming, video rendering, recording and alot of photo editing. That would be premiere, lightroom and PS. My 5820K is aging, while it still is fully functional and arguably kicking ass my thought is to sell it while it still has some value to lower the cockshot blow when buying new.
What are your thoughts, guys? I mean of course it's going to improve my experience with rendering and all that, but is it pointless? Anyones opinion here is valid.

    Thanks! ?

Try reseating the cable on both ends. Might just be a little loose from when you moved it.
If that doesn't work, try moving it to a different SATA port.

Are you sure you plugged it back in correctly with both the Sata data port and the Sata power connector?
If yes, try a different plug on the motherboard.

Does sound like the PSU is acting up.

Not suprising considering how bad this unit is from what i know.

Tier: "dont buy" on the tierlist.

That or this mobo which didnt like being with the bad PSU.

Regardless of what the issue actually is. Swap the PSU to a cx450 (2017) or cx550
