  1. Coffee or lunch are pretty safe bets for a first time. I know it can be overwhelming for some people, but don't worry it's just talking to someone at the end of the day! Just start with things that you can both relate to like things going on at School/College or in class, projects you've done, and it should move on from there. If you really struggle to get the conversation going then commenting on the food/drink you have is always safe small talk - ask her what tv shows she likes etc just the way you'd do with anyone else. She's a human being, just like you
  2. I did it for Aesthetics. Yes, it brought the noise level and temperatures down and allowed me to get the most out of my system without using LN2, but that's hardly enough to justify an $800-$1000 W/C loop I had . Since then though I've had to sell my PC and build a more 'Sensible' workstation now that I'm entering the adult world of work I've still thrown in a Corsair H105 and noctua fans because I think it just plain looks better. Waiting on Noctuas project chromax and Cablemod cables to be in stock at the moment to finish off the Aesthetics.
  3. No, it isn't for a lot of people. For some though, it can be a bit confusing, some just need a friendly nudge
  4. Just be yourself, the worst thing you could do right now would be to try and 'act cool'. You make her laugh a lot by being you so she obviously enjoys your company. It's all up to you now, she's put forward that she's interested, and by what you've said so are you. Hang out some more with her outside of class, just casual stuff - Coffee, a walk - nothing too 'datey' yet. If all goes well it should flow from there - you'll get to know her better and visa versa. Good luck man
  5. So you'd suggest a better process for selecting moderators - ones who aren't going to get bored and start stretching the rules for the purpose of abusing their position to dish out warning points.
  6. That's why you go to a viewing of the item to make sure it all works, and watch the drives being wiped and having windows re-installed.
  7. Then i suppose the issue may lie not only in the influx of new members, but the non-standardized rules that each forum mod seems to be going by.
  8. Yes, unfortunately I'd have to agree with that.
  9. Why not go for the black Industrial edition fans? Noctua is launching project Chromax soon which means you'll be able to replace the rubber anti-vibration mounts with some of a color of your choosing: White, Yellow, Red, Blue Green and LTT Orange.
  10. As someone who's been a member of this forum for over 2 years now, I agree that the general attitude displayed by members of this forum has become a lot less welcoming and impartial over the last little while. I wasn't active for a good 8 months and have only recently started being a more active member again like I used to. It's seems that with the influx of more members to the forum it's degraded the overall quality, objectivity and impartiality of information and advice given out to those seeking it. I'm not sure if it's the new members themselves, or if it's the increased load that this many members puts on the forum moderators. Back when I used to be more active (mid 2013 to late 2014) I'd come across moderators a lot more often in threads, even for simple things like letting the OP know that the thread was being moved and/or closed. I think possibly the number of forum moderators hasn't increased proportionally with the number of new members joining the forum. They used to be very good at weeding out the bad eggs and troll posters. I don't know if anyone here remembers the spree of members joining to post advertisements on the forums? They'd get to post once or twice then those threads would immediately be taken down and they'd be banned within a couple of minutes.
  11. Yes, SD expansion is also a must-have for me. Having 96GB (32GB internal + 64GB SD card) of storage in my Note 4 is amazing for offline music playback.
  12. Yep, same here. A 5.5" screen, 3500mAh+ battery, stock android and a decent camera and I'm sold.
  13. Actually 900p would be 1600x900 - a 16:9 aspect ratio. To answer your question, your monitor is neither, and in terms of pixel count, sits somewhere in the middle, between 720p (1280x720) and 1080p (1920x1080)

IDK what to say or feel right now... http://puu…

My actual GPU clock was 1503MHz core/7400MHz memory. 5930K was at 4.5GHz and my memory is at 2667MHz CAS13

You're a lucky man. Here's my best on my new system: http://imgur.com/a/QLHHq
  16. You can find tamed variants of the MSI GS60 ghost pro for around that price I believe, it's a lovely chassis and still makes for a compact school/college laptop. My friend has a juiced up model with dual 512GB SSD's in RAID 0 plus a 1TB HDD, a GTX 970m and a 4K screen, really something.

Hey!How you been man? I built a new system - unfortunately a little more sensible than my previous dual 290X build since I'm entering the realm of employment. It's my first 'workstation' build. But hey, who said you couldn't put a GTX 980 Ti in a workstation? ;)
  18. As others on this topic thread have already told you, for your CPU under-volting really isn't going to give you any benefits in terms of power consumption and thermal performance. I'd leave it at Auto buddy. If you were using something more powerful like a 5820K or above, then it'd make more sense, especially if you were planning on a mini-itx or mATX build in a small chassis where excess heat would be a problem.

Okay! Long time no see by the way ;) Not a fair fight but I'll pick the gauntlet up anyway. My sig system specs are outdated by the way! :D
  20. Well, before you read my post, it might be a good idea to read up on what g-sync and competing technologies do, and the problems they solve. Watch Linux's fast as possible video on freesync: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ey-KObDABI And his NCIX g sync video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fghQh0Y4oA4 Is G-sync dead? No, I don't think it is, nor do I think that it is dying. Far from it, eventually I think the technology will be ubiquitous without the price premium of today's models of G-sync monitors. I think the reason that some. May think it dead is because it's been out for roughly 2 years give or take, with many manufacturers releasing multiple models of their monitors with G-sync, but despite the competition, the price of g-sync monitors is incredibly high compared to none g-sync counterparts of the same resolution. For example: my 60Hz 1440p IPS monitor cost me £230. The Acer G-sync equivalent with an IPS monitor and 144Hz refresh rate costs over £600. At the price it's currently sitting at, it's at too much of a premium for most gamers to justify.
  21. Other than remounting the CPU block and making sure the pump is still at the same speed it always has been, the only reason I can think this could be happening is a faulty sensor or a software issue.
  22. The Samsung SM951 512GB m.2 drive - bought it for my new X99 system a month ago. Turns out Windows 10 doesn't like the combination of the SM951 and X99 motherboards. Now it's either back to Windows 8.1 that works or buy an Intel 750 series SSD.
  23. At 1440p AA is less of an issue, so 2x AA is really all you'll need so turning the down is an option if you haven't already. Hair works really is poorly optimised and very intensive for what it is - personally I'd just turn it off and drop the AA to 2x as tearing isn't as much of a problem at 1440p and 4k.
  24. I've tried searching for information yes, but so far your link has been the most relevant and helpful. It could be that Windows 10 is fine (Considering the drive doesn't need AHCI drivers) and may be a compatability issue with X99 mothrboards and/or the drive itself- possibly a chipset driver issue if X99 is the problem. I've read of people with Skylake systems running this drive with Windows 10 just fine.
  25. So someone else on X99 with the same drive is having the same problem freshly installing windows 10. Considering windows 7 and 8.1 both boot fine from the drive. It could be a Windows 10 issue with none-traditional storage? Even though the drive is AHCI based and shouldn't require Intel achi drivers I'll try booting into safe mode and manually downloading and installing them. If that fails to work I'll just revert back to Windows 8.1 until MS fix Windows 10. Anyone else have any suggestions on how to use Windows 10 on my drive? Really would like to use Windows 10 if possible.
