  1. Hi everyone, I have been debating about posting this on here for a while because I feel pretty pissed off. So last year, I put up a deposit for the new Dough Spectrum 4k in glossy. I already had one of the non-glossy 4k monitors from them; back when they were called Eve. I have been pretty happy with the monitor overall so I went ahead on preordering the glossy version. Long story short, these guys have not shipped it, and the y keep telling me that it is supposed to be shipping soon for months now. At this point, I am pretty sure I wont ever see that monitor. So just letting you guys know that you should not buy any of these guys' stuff. Dough is straight up shafting it's costumers.
  2. I recently went from an rx6800 to an rtx 3080. But performance has been lacking. I tried using DDU to remove and then install drivers. Checked the game files to make sure they were all valid. I am not sure what to do next. CPU: AMD 5600x RAM: 16GB 3200 CL14 GPU: Strix 3080 watercooled
  3. Hi everyone. I wanted to create a place where we could discuss helping Linus with automating his new house. As LTT recently posted a video giving us a tour of his new place and explaining what he would like to get done. I have a few suggestions myself, as I used to be a smart home integrator professionally.
  4. Ive dumped the vbios and edited based on this tutorial: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/56049-video-guide-how-to-easily-passthough-a-nvidia-gpu-as-primary-without-dumping-your-own-vbios/ And I edited my xml accordingly, but my Windows VM gives me a code45, indicating it does not "see" my gpu and only outputs video through the basic windows driving. Here is my XML: <domain type='kvm' id='8'> <name>Windows 10 GamingVM</name> <uuid>2516c62f-d484-1394-3200-6a2b52a69d00</uuid> <metadata> <vmtemplate xmlns="unraid" name="Windows 10" icon="windows.png" 5. I am not using an igpu, I am running a ryzen 5 1600x. I am running unraid headless from the web gui. i selected the gpu video and gpu audio. But I get that error when I try to install the nvidia drivers.
  6. I am running a windows 10 vm on top of unraid 6.5.3. GPU and USB passthrough work just fine, but when I try to install the nvidida graphics drivers, my screen goes dark and the vm becomes unresponsive. 7. Hi guys, I work for a small tech startup that currently has one server machine that runs our git repo, web application, database, etc. We are looking to build a second machine for backups. I was wondering what software solution(s) was best for us since none of us hav IT background. Our server is running Ubuntu.
  8. Yeah Rockstor is good, I am more a BSD/Unix guy so I went with FreeNAS.
  9. Well, on the linux/btrfs side of things, Rockstar is a good way to go since its free and has similar capabilities to that of unRaid. From what I understand, your system is probably not powerful enough to run something with ZFS, like FreeNAS/BSD. Another alternative is to simply use a desktop linux bistro like OpenSUSE, which comes with btrfs and install teamviwer to manage it remotely.
  10. Honestly for that price point, I would suggest something from synology. Make sure you get a two bay machine as a minimum so that you can use RAID 1 for redundancy.
  11. I want to build a gaming/Nas using the Node 804 case from fractal design and unraid as the host os with a windows vm installed. Just looking for hardware recommendations/suggestions. Any would be appreciated.
  12. The good thing about Linux is that the only difference between "server" versions of distros and "desktop" versions are more often than not the packages that come included, thats pretty much it.
