  1. Update just in case someone stumbles upon this. I bought a SSD and installed Windows on it. Everything works perfectly now. HDD was the problem all along.
  2. I ran memtest86 but there was no error. I tried system restore but it failed. I attached the screenshot below. I'm running out of options on what to do. Maybe I'll reinstall Windows. I don't know what else to do.
  3. Yeah. Still trying to figure out why booting in safe mode causes a black screen and then shuts down the PC.
  4. Sadly I don't have any parts lying around. And I don't have enough money to buy parts just to find out what's wrong.
  5. Pretty new build. It's been running fine for the past 10 months. Haven't replaced any parts or installed any new programs. Atm trying to update to Windows version 1909 but it's stuck at 16% because PC freezes.
  6. CPU runs at normal temp around 41-45c. Ram might be the cause but PC still freezes when i use one stick at a time to test it out. No way both ram sticks are faulty. But I'll try running memtest86 later.
  7. Hi. My PC freezes 5-10 minutes after start-up. Everything will launch just fine but will hang afterwards. This happened around a month ago but I fixed it when I updated windows. But this time it seems to be more severe. I can't open file explorer or even task manager. I can't update windows since the whole PC freezes. I'm trying to update to windows version 1909 but it's stuck at 16%. The temperatures are normal. I had 4 beeps once. So I've tried taking out the CMOS battery and putting it back in but nope. Tried using only 1 RAM stick in the slot but still the problem persists. I attempted to go into safe mode but whenever I tried that, the screen turns black and PC shuts down. Another thing which might help to figure out the problem. When the freeze/lag happens I can still use browser as long as I don't minimize it. So might it be the windows itself is at fault here? Spec: Windows 10 AMD Ryzen 5 2400G Mobo: ASRock B450M Pro4 Hyperx Predator DDR4 3200MHz 8GB x2 Psu: Seasoning S12G Gold 550W
  8. Gigabyte B85M-D3H. It had 3 years of warranty and it ended last month.
  9. Well shit. I'll keep running the Memtest86 for another 12 hours or so and see how it goes. I was thinking about buying new memory stick first and try it out but now I'm not so sure anymore. I'll update later. Thank you.
  10. Yes. Same motherboard. My GPU stopped working as well last year. The fan still runs and all but it's not detected and there was no display. I never thought about mobo being the problem but now it seems like it.
  11. 1 TB WD. This is my third HDD because previous 2 HDDs were bad from an online retailer. I bought this one from a different shop couple months ago. Whenever I leave tabs open on my Chrome, it freezes the whole PC for few seconds to load up again when I return to those tabs. Even some programs like Spotify and discord. Idk if this would help to identify the problem but just putting it out there.
  12. It's progressing now. Already have 3 passes. I've read that running the test for 24 hours is recommended. I guess I should probably do that.
  13. I've been running Memtest86 for quite a while now and it's stuck at test 9 for more than an hour. It did pass once. What does this say? I tried looking up for info but there's no definite answer.
  14. Running Memtest86. Will let know how it goes. I only have one stick. I did switch slots before.
  15. Hi. My PC is stuck at starting windows screen. I can't even boot up in safe mode. I'm running Windows 7. When I try to run safe mode, it gets stuck at (see pic attached). PC has been freezing up/ lagging quite frequently lately and I suspect that my RAM stick is the problem. My HDD is brand new btw. I've ran into 'required data not placed into memory error' before. Can bad memory stick cause PC not be able to start up? Hope someone can help me out. Thank you.
