In what way is it frustrating to use Google drive? That info might help answer your question. In my experience Google drive is the less frustrating alternative compared to a Synology DS218Play.
Remember that if someone remote wants to download from this NAS your Upload speed is what matters.

In my experience the Synology NAS takes quite long to wake up from stand by which can be frustrating to and running over even less distance but also a municipal internet speed (50/10) between two European neighbors it is quite slow.

It also comes with the hassle of having to administrate it.

In my opinion a NAS is worth it for fast local storage or for sensitive data you don't want in the cloud. To me it seems like solving the grievenaces you have with your current cloud solution would be easier and cheaper than getting a NAS.

GER_T4IGA got a reaction from RageTester in How does one choose between laptop or mini PC plus a monitor nowadays?
Source for my opinion: I have a powerful system in an Ncase M1 which is reasonable small (with a dedicated GPU) but that is freaking heavy.

If you need to move it, get a laptop. If you have to bring a monitor it doesn't really matter if your PC is compact. You could get something like an Intel NUC but if you have to go somewhere where you also have to bring the monitor a laptop is 98% of times the better option. A display is heavy, fragile and still bulkier than most but the largest laptops.

GER_T4IGA got a reaction from RONOTHAN## in Is it bad to have a cooler block/pump running without a CPU?
Not bas as in "will damage something" but bad as in wear. I don'T see the necessity either. Just plug it in after you have the braket, when it is actually useful.

Should be incredibly simple. Do you absolutely need to move this PC around outside of your home regularly including potentially on flights?

    Get a laptop.

If you don't NEED a laptop, don't get a laptop, they are a giant overpriced compromise, especially for gaming.

I'll be honesty you said a lot of other little things but it seems like a lot of rambling. What are you looking for?

Check ALL cable connections again. If possible check the board with the old PSU again. If that no longer works the board may be dead. If it still works there is an issue with your PSU (which is weird because you verified it with another system.

    My bet is on cables.

What is start up behavior exactly? What happens vs what do you expect to happen when you press the power button?

What is the goal here? You will no matter how you answer any other questions have to decide how much money you are willing to burn for a few more FPS at most.

The 9900KF is still very new and you will undoubtedly benchmark better with e.g. an 10900K but you also undoubtedly will not notice any real world differencu while using the system, so is that worth 500+ bucks to you?

GER_T4IGA reacted to OddJob001 in New Samsung Ody Neo G9 has same recall issue as the original version.
I originally made the post on reddit about issues and recalls on the 1st edition Samsung Odyssey G9.

I have since returned 2 of the original Ody G9s, under recall. If you own one, they will allow you to return it, without question, for a full refund. All you have to do is keep telling them "its under recall".Even when they want to send someone out to troubleshoot it, just tell them "no, its under recall."

They are under recall due to a 240hz horizontal scan line issue (as seen here: https://i.imgur.com/7P7K7Ls.png).
I went through 2 monitors, hoping one with an updated manufacture date would resolve the issue. It didnt.

My next thought was, "ok, lets return the 2nd one and get the Ody Neo G9, upgraded panel. They must have this issue fixed in this panel right?"
    WRONG.
The horizontal scan line issue STILL EXISTS in this new Neo G9 panel.

The updated monitor and panel are nice, I'll say that. There are additional buttons for quick switching between monitor settings (profiles). Its a bit more durable (doesnt move around as much), the frame has a more streamlined look to it, the colors and contrast are quite a bit better than the original. The blacks are amazing.

Im not sure what Im going to do. Who knows if this issue will ever be fixed. It's not present in 120hz, only in 240hz, so at least Ive got that going for me.
I am certainly going to reach out to Samsung support and have them look at this. For awhile they were saying that replacing the mainboard on the monitor was resolving it for the 1st edition. But then later they told me that was no longer an option.

I wanted to share this with all of you that are looking at upgrading to ultra-wide. I will post more updates as I get them.
tl;dr - New Samsung Ody Neo G9 has the same horizontal scan line issues at 240hz that are under recall on the first Ody G9.

GER_T4IGA reacted to CerealExperimentsLain in How exactly does UnRaid save my data
UnRAID stores your files in a plain file system on the main disck.  There are also parity disks that are used to reconstruct data if a storage disk fails.  You can add more than one parity disc.  UnRAID can survive as many storage drive failures as there are parity discs without losing any data.  If you have 1 parity disk, and four storage disks, each 16TB in size, you can store 64TB (4x16) and if one storage disk fails the parity disk will keep you going and you can recover.  If you lose two storage discs, there will be no saving the data on the two disks.  However, as the data is in plain format on the other disks, the remaining two disks that did not fail can still be read.  To have 100% loss of data you will need to lose 100% of your disks.

If you add additional parity disks, you can surive additional storage disk failures.  Have two parity disks?  You can lose 2 storage discs before lost disks become unrecoverable.

Unlike 'RAID' there is no situation where the RAID can 'collapse' and you will lose 100% of your data, every drive remains readable on it's own if it's operational.  You can rip your storage disks out of the machine and read them in another computer just using the XFS file system.

UnRAID allows you to mix and match drives as you want, your parity drive must be at least as large as your largest storage disk.  So 1x16TB parity and 1x16TB storage disk plus 4x1TB disks?  You have 20TB of usable storage.  The storage disks just add up without any 'loss'.

Most likely less than not worth it. Given what a power hog the 290 is, I do still think the 30 bucks would hit for pretty long on your power bill (at least on european prices).
For shtis and giggles I would definitely at least try but not for performance reasons.

I think a lot of people use electron nowadays but cross platform always comes with some caveats and therefore electron is is similarly frowned up as java is for desktop apps for a while now.

For reference these builds look great with white fluid but the look with white tubing wouldn't be much different. They have some visual issue unrelated to tubing color but I am sure you could solve those.

Thank you everyone for your answers really helped a lot. I opened Horizon zero dawn again while using the MSI afterburner, at high settings GPU was about 75-90% and CPU was around 40-60% but my RAM usage was 7GB and I think it is what causing the issue when I visit a settlement in the game because recommended RAM is 16gb. So, I will be upgrading my RAM as of now because for Cyberpunk recommended requirements are met by my system expect the RAM and I will be upgrading to a 240gb SSD later for game storage later. Thank you everyone for the advice and help.

I think you will get the most out of a faster GPU for gaming.
If you have more VRAM that will also reduce your RAM usage (at least when changing from a low VRAM GPU to a high one).
We don't exactly know what is causing your stuttering. To be more sure i'd at least install MSI aftremurner and check RAM and VRAM usage.
Generally i'd expect a came to Ust load very slow with an HDD. I haven't heard of many HDD related texture streaming issues or the likes

Edit: but to answer your actual question i'd upgrade the RAM up to 16GB if i have an SSD at all.

I don't know about surround but in studios we use Listento by audiomovers to live stream studio audio from one PC to another... Source connect is another popular option.

Other than that I'm not too sure how to go about that except maybe setting up a DANTE network between the machines but that would be quite expensive.

VBAN seems to be the usual solution to this issue...

A 3070 is absolutely freoking overkill for 1080p for anything but 240Hz imo.

From the tosting i have seen, even a 3300x will beat your 2700X in most games so if you see unsatisfactorily low framerates your CPU is very very likely at fault.
