  1. Hey guys, Im moving into a new pace next month where im not going to have a router next to my computer. I need to purchase a wifi card and i dont know anything about them. I play a lot of Dota and i need a card that wont D/C me. Anyone know a good reliable card? Im willing to spend a little extra if its worth it. Budget ~$50 Thank you!
  2. Hey guys, My friend recently asked me if i could build him a PC and he is a graphic artist. Ive built gaming PC's before but im not sure what a PC that deals with picture editing software needs. My main question is what i should do about the graphics card. Do i even need one? He asked me if i could do it for $800 so that's the budget. Thanks
  3. Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a laptop for coding (MatLab, Python, etc...) and the dell xps 13 is looking pretty good. Im thinking about this model i5 8 gigs ram non touch 250 gig SSD and the price seems to be around $1,100 Does anyone think i should go for a different model? I wanted a non touch i7 but they don't make those so i would have to buy a touch i7 for like $1,700 ish. Also if there are sales or i should wait please give me your opinion.
  4. whats the difference between this one and the G1 gaming?
  5. Hey guys I'm about to do another clean install of windows 8.1. This will be my 4th time installing an OS and everything is getting a bit messy. I'm currently running one 240Gig SSD and two 1T Hard drives. On one hard drive I have I think 3 windows.old and on my ssd I have two. What is the best way to clean everything up and get ready for my next clean install? (hopefully my last for a while) I also have a 500Gig external hard drive
  6. I just found out i have a micro center around my house and it looks like they have some pretty good deals AMD: http://www.microcenter.com/site/products/amd_bundles.aspx Intel: http://www.microcenter.com/site/brands/intel-processor-bundles.aspx what is the best bang for the buck here? Im a engineering student so i want my computer to be able to run programs like solid works. I also game and would like to stream games like dota, borderlads, and bioshock. I have ~$300 budget but im willing to spend a little more for something that is worth it. I also just got a coolermaster hyper 212 evo so i can overclock.
  7. Why is microcenter so cheap? I have one an hour away
  8. I think I posted this in the wrong area. I'm new here. Is there anyway to delete it or move it?
  9. It's been 3 years since I built my first computer and I figure its time to start looking at upgrades. The heart of my current pc is AMD FX-4130 Zambezi Quad-Core 3.8GHz Socket AM3+ FD4130FRGUBOX Desktop Processor ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 AM3+ AMD RX881/760G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL EVGA GTX 660-ti Now I don't need to upgrade at this moment so my goal is to wait for things to go on sale. I've been looking at the "hot deals" area on this form for the past month but I don't know what I'm looking for. What I want most is -new motherboard and processor (with easy upgrade ability) -a nice cooler so I can over clock -a new case ( I really like NZXT's s340 and Define's R5) My question to you all is what kind of motherboard, processor, and cooler combo would be good for me?( around a $500 budget but willing to pay more if it's worth it) I don't care if it's AMD or Intel, also if it happens to look good then that's just a bonus. Also do those cases ever go on sale? Thank you Oh also I would like to be able to stream games( mainly stream dota but I play games like Battlefield and bioshock)
  10. it was a full disk! i was trying to avoid a fresh install for as long as possible. is there anything else i can try first?
  11. So i recently upgraded to windows 8.1 and sometimes when i start my computer i get a black screen that i cant do anything with. If i turn on and off my computer enough times it works. When its working i can put it into hibernation and it starts up fine, its only when i turn it on is when i get this black screen. I've been poking around trying to figure what it is but nothing has fixed it. CPU: AMD FX-Quad-Core GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti I Have tried the following -Updating windows (currently have the most resent update) - disabling display adapters (i only have my GTX 660 listed) -msconfig into services and disabling"intel technology"(i couldn't find it)
  12. I do but I lent my windows 7 to my little brother. I'll have to drive down and get it from him tomorrow then
  13. Swapped out the RAM and it didn't fix anything
