  1. Thanks guys! I'd better get to it then
  2. My question is whether Asus Z170-A motherboard support 16GB sticks of ram. I plan to use Crucial Ballistix with it. I already read the list of compatible RAM on their website, but i guess it was done in the time of release (1 year ago) when the 16GB sticks weren't much of a thing + they can't possibly test every RAM type. The mobo supports 64GB of RAM total, so I guess you should be able to use it since 16*4=64. Do any of you run this config? Would it work?
  3. Hi guys, which one of the two would you recommend? The prices are almost identical where I live and I'm mainly interested in feature/quality comparison (aesthetically the MSI board is better in my opinion, but that doesn't matter much to me).
  4. http://videocardz.com/59695/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-reviews-on-may-17th But it doesn't matter, I would wait for AMD anyway. I think their 300ish dollar offer could be pretty good perf/price wise.
  5. Reviews should be out on May 17 or something like that. Long before one should stand outside the microcenter
  6. Hi guys, a friend of mine sunk mobile phone into water. It's dead for sure, but the question is: Is there a way to get contacts from it? They were saved on phone's storage with no backup. Are they gone or is there a way? Thanks for answer.
  7. If you want I can give you my settings, but it's just guideline, your overclocking experience will almost certainly be different. Also make sure to check your motherboard and cooler is good enough (I have AIO liquid, but it isn't really necessary, good air cooler is just fine).
  8. Yep, I pushed mine i5-750 to 4.0 GHz this way. Still runs in my main rig, waiting for Zen to upgrade to something else (whether AMD or Intel).
  9. It's some old (6yrs?) fortron 650w psu. That's why I'm kind of suspicious that it might be that. But is there a way to know for sure? The error message is so vague, that nobody seems to know what causes the issue.
  10. Hi, lately I've been experiencing some crashes/restarts. It happened 3 times today. Once when I was writing a document in word (computer restarted itself with no warning), and two times when I was playing GTA V (screen turned completely red and I had to hard reset the computer). I'm running Windows 10, almost fresh install (installed like 3 days ago, because it crashed the same way in AC:Unity and got stuck in self repairing loop). I went into Event logger and sure enough there were 3 critical errors from today (all Kernel-Power errors - ID 41, category 63). Report from event logger is as follows: - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power" Guid="{331C3B3A-2005-44C2-AC5E-77220C37D6B4}" /> <EventID>41</EventID> <Version>3</Version> <Level>1</Level> <Task>63</Task> <Opcode>0</Opcode> <Keywords>0x8000200000000002</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2015-12-28T20:58:39.112225000Z" /> <EventRecordID>862</EventRecordID> <Correlation /> <Execution ProcessID="4" ThreadID="8" /> <Channel>System</Channel> <Computer>DESKTOP-EN26AUL</Computer> <Security UserID="S-1-5-18" /> </System> - <EventData> <Data Name="BugcheckCode">292</Data> <Data Name="BugcheckParameter1">0x0</Data> <Data Name="BugcheckParameter2">0xffffe0012e616028</Data> <Data Name="BugcheckParameter3">0xf2000000</Data> <Data Name="BugcheckParameter4">0x14</Data> <Data Name="SleepInProgress">0</Data> <Data Name="PowerButtonTimestamp">0</Data> <Data Name="BootAppStatus">0</Data> </EventData> </Event> My guess would be the PSU, but I want to hear your guys' thoughts on this before pulling the trigger on a new one. I also heard that it might be some memory issue (but that was in discussion for WIN7 from over 5yrs ago). And another tip I've seen was something about preventing computer from going to sleep mode (but I already tried that and it doesn't change anything). Thanks for and kind of response.
  11. It happens to me as well with ancient i5-750 @ 4ghz and 280x. I thought it was my cpu, but apparently not, it's just poorly optimized. It happens to me in Diamond city and on high towers (large view distance). We'll have to wait for patch (+ AMD driver - man!!! ). Hope it comes soon.
  12. I have my i5-750 @ 3.8ghz, 1.385V. I think it's set up as 20x190 with RAM running just under 1600 MHz. It might help you a bit. I will try for 4 GHz one bright day though. But for now I'm a little worried to go to 1.4V or higher. Has anyone here some experience with high voltage on those?
  13. So Intel has announced their new lineup of Xeon parts for 1151 socket. I know that a lot of people run Xeons instead of i7, since it has 4C/8T for much cheaper and without the iGPU that many people don't need anyway. They said however that it would be only supported on the new C232 and C236 chipsets (no H170 and Z170). Then everyone went apeshit it seems. I wonder why so. Are those motherboards worse quality, do they have less features or are they simply more expansive? It obviously can't be that you can't overclock with them since Xeons are know to have almost zero overclocking capability. Thanks for any thoughts.
  14. It happened to me recently with my 280x in GTA V. But when I found out that a lot of 280Xs do that in GTA V I wasn't in hurry to RMA it + I can't take it back to my retailer now since it would take 30 days for them to repair/give me new one and you know Fallout is coming and war, war never changes
