  1. I saw this and thought of Linus. It has nothing to do with tech. Just Canadanada
  2. That is pretty crazy. He just HAD to take it to your shop!
  3. I didn't I just went up the keypad... 123 456 7890 this shows the difference...
  4. So I had the Oddest thing happen to me just now, and figured why not make a post about it since today is a little slow. I work in a PC repair shop and I had just finished working on a dell desktop and I went to lookup the customer in our machine to call them, I searched their name and I see they checked in their Dell desktop. so I call the number. What's so strange you ask? I got the wrong person! They said they dropped off their dell a year ago and its still working great! So I embarrassingly apologize for the wrong number and hangup. I go back into my machine and I see this TWO people with the same name.... Now I know that isn't strange at all, here is what is... They have the exact same first and last name. They both brought in Dell desktops a year apart to the MONTH. Their phone numbers matched: (123) 456-7890 (123) 465-7890 Yeah, just the two numbers switch places!!! And once I talked to them, they were both soft-spoken middle aged women that sounded pretty close to the same... Sadly they did not have the same service or receipt amount
  5. and I have created an account and submitted a support case. To bad I wont be able to use my computer for at least several day :'( Though I hope they can take care of me. Thanks!
  6. So I got it off Amazon this Christmas (just under 6 months ago) Do I have some type of warranty for replacement? Something went wrong, I was using it this morning and all the sudden it stopped working and the 3 lights stayed solid red. Brought it to work and plugged it into a fresh windows 7 machine it has never been plugged into and same problem. Which means it is the mouse and not the computer. physically it doesn't look damaged, there is the nasty finger grease, grime, and muck. Just curious what my options are? (USA)
  7. I'm not trying to be arrogant. I really just don't understand why you need to take the CPU out of the socket, and remove the RAM. I gave you my opinion on running HDS. I'm now leaving this thread so I don't further offend you.
  8. I clean computers all the time (its part of my job) I hate to break it to you. but you can clean it just as well while still in the motherboard... I don't fully understand what you were thinking.. What did you use to clean with? (Please don't say a damp towel)
  9. Use "hard disk sentinel" and test your HDD. It may be going bad/about to die. Site: http://www.hdsentinel.com/hard_disk_sentinel.php
  10. Why would you clear the CMOS? -.- Go back through and see if there are any options to boot faster? As for the internet. No idea... buy a new house with a faster internet connection?
  11. I was more thinking like "this is the engine, here is how it works. Here is the battery and all the different things it powers." just an overview of all the general parts in a car and how they work. Like if someone asks to name the parts of a computer you go: CPU, GPU, RAM, PSU MOBO, Floppy drive, Case. and then explain what they do.
