I would wait and see if the 9000 series by AMD provides significant performance improvements for the price point.

I would try to stay at about 65-70c or lower on a cpu. Like godlygamer said, lower voltage. Also, try starting at a lower voltage and turning up the by one until it becomes unstable, then turning up the voltage up again by a little bit and repeat the proccess. Remember to thoroughly stress test the cpu with prime 95 or something before changing anything.

I would go with the 7950. It can OC a lot higher and with better performance.

iirc, the tdp is less because of the new architecture :)

iirc some of the editing programs are dropping cuda for opencl. I would also wait for the rest of the 700 series and the amd 9000 series to come out.

There is a checkbox that you can uncheck on the run page that pops up that will solve your problem :)

You can get 1600Mhz RAM really cheap, so I don't see why that would be an issue.
