CableMod WideBeam LED Strip Giveaway
divinebook replied to nicklmg's topic in New Builds and Planning
My custom PC Build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Rdt3qs Why CableMOD should provide me with their new Wide Beam LED Strips. The only lighting i have in my Corsair Spec 03 case is the default LED CPU Fan that came with the case. My corsair case is telling me "It's time to fill it up with lights so you can see everything from the outside while the case is closed !" i have a total of 5 CPU Fans but only 1 of them have LED on it which is the default one which came with the case. i find my case very dark with just only 1 LED fan providing light for the case, i have no money or should i say, i can't afford to buy any LED Strips as im jobless at the moment. Which LED Strips i would like : Magnetic. Because you save a lot of time to peal off the sticky thing from the foam adhesive. and if you choose Magnetic you can just take it off from your casing within less than 1 second and put it elsewhere without having to worry if it's gonna stick or not. if i was selected as 1 of the 5 winners, I would like to have 6 Magnetic Wide Beam LED Strips. Because you need 1 strip for each side of your case, and the other 2 i would probably use it on the front panel where the 2 CPU fans are since they are both SP120 Quiet edition twin pack with no LED, so my case won't feel dark anymore and it will shine as bright like a diamond with this new Wide beam LED Strips. -
Why i want a (SSD) Solid State Drive. I don't own a SSD using only one 1TB Seagate HDD as my main storage 500GB as Back up and 500GB for my rest of my stash I need a SSD because i need it so i can set it as my Windows 10 OS on it, or probably use it for game performance maybe? SSD are mad expensive here in Singapore, and i don't earn any income at the moment to even afford a S$120 ~ 150 Samsung SSD If i ever win it, i will take a picture and post it on Instagram & Twitter and tag Linus on it and tell people to join LinusTechTips.com because it's the best forum for computer related needs and etc since it's a 240 GB SSD i might probably just use it for gaming and my seagate will be used for my windows OS / pagefile Why i think everyone should have an Solid state drive (SSD) in their system. Pagefile.sys?? Faster boot time?? Better reads, writes speed than using a HDD?? it makes your gaming desktop, work station, business PC looks more cool with a extra hard disk looking object in your system.

Hello everyone, i kinda need help with PWM Cables and i'm actually confused by it a little even tho after buying a fan splitter from this guy and he explained to me. i still didn't get what he was saying. First of all.. # i understand that PWM Cables have 4 pins & 4 wire colors in 1 connector - because i'm lazy to draw, im gonna use symbol to explain instead. 4/4/3/3 pin below are my case fans. 2 SP120 Performance. other 2 from Corsair Spec 03 Casing \/ Connects to 4-pin 4-pin 3-pin 3-pin Motherboard Sys_Fan 120mm Fan 120mm Fan 120mm Fan 120mm Fan |||||||||||||||||||| |||||||||||||||||||| |||||||||||||||||||| ||||||||||||||||||| ||||||||||||||||||| [x][x][x][x] [x][x][x][x] [x][x][ ][x] [x][x][ ][x] [x][x][ ][x] # Above here is a fan splitter cable i have just bought. and i tho all 4 fan splitter will have 4 pins. but i only see (1) 4-pin and (3) 3-pins. i went back to the guy and he explained in a hard way which i couldn't understand a single bit of what his saying. All that i can understand what he said was this is "normal" because your PC can only detect 1 PWM fan and can't detect 4 PWM fans at once (?????) and he said, anything outside from this is bullshit / fake   - I'm Not a IT Expert so i do not understand a single thing. - which i would love to have someone to explain this to me again on why can't your system detect 4 PWM fans at once o-o - My motherboard only support 1 SYS_Fan, 1 CPU_Fan - Gigabyte H81M S2PV Rev 3.0 # Question How the other 3 fans running on just 2 Wires?? as shown above. my other 3 fans are just running on black & red wires. Pardon me, my english might not be very good in sentencing. and i don't really know where to post this so i think posting it in air cooling might work since this is related to Case fans

okay.. that's just very weird. will you be able to screenshot your installed updates in full window? also when you said about the optional update.. you mean you didn't even installed any "update for windows 7 something KB0000000" as an example. from the optional tab? cause that might make sense doe @han_han08 hey good to hear from you again, well i don't really think your mobo can't run PWM fans. i'm using S2PV which is 1 level before D3H was out i think. and i'm running 1 SP120 PWM fan

right so.. i don't think i need to explain anything from here tho. or maybe i do a little bit. i am running Hyper 212X CPU Cooler & SP120 Corsair 120mm fan x1 i have actually no idea how does 1 of my temp is showing @ (-) 128*c so if anyone has any idea how is that happening please let me know o-o tho it does not affect my system or anything but it looks weird . i would have freeze to death if my fans were blowing @ negative 128*c degree

Cool, yeah was planning to get that NZXT Grid(+) if i could figure out a way for it to ship to singapore since NZXT store website only provides US/Canada i think. do you use that fan splitter too?

@ i think i might have found the issue which breaks calibration tool from the (SIV) Issue that is causing the system to fry and shut down without any warning. - Windows Update ( Security update i suppose ) - i still can't figure out which KB Update affected this unless i go full nuts and uninstall each update 1 by 1 - windows security update might be the cause for the system to shut down unexpectedly before the calibration even started. - i have reformatted my PC 5-6 times just to find out what was causing this. and it was windows update and nothing else. and to the people who replied to this thread. @lostRoadrunner @han_han08 @shawn finkenstead @LoGiCalDrm @Cream pie filled car

Good morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night, Midnight owls to every humans that are alive in LinusTechTips My System Information : Running OS : Windows 7 64bit. (CM) Hyper 212X CPU Cooler SP120 Corsair fan PWM Quiet edition (x1) Will be running additional 5 fans once my fan splitter arrives. Alright.. i believe motherboard model doesn't really affect anything on this issue. so it's probably me doing something wrong or something else is frying my brain up. before i actually start, i am using the following mobo model : Gigabyte H81M-S2PV ( Revision 3.0 ) which like i said above, i believe motherboard model doesn't have to do with this. read on if you wanna know why i said motherboard model doesn't have to do with this. Calibrating & changing Speed type from "Smart Fan Auto" - Was working perfectly fine last night. till i went to sleep and woke up and tried to calibrate my fans again and my whole system just turns off. CPU Power goes off and everything else that has to do with the PC. *Nothing was touched in my rig. Moving on to the real topic. Does anyone use the APP Center that Gigabyte provides in they're website? if so, have you ever used SIV? ( System Information Viewer ) #Yes : Does your computer fry like a chicken wing when you start calibrating your fans with the application? No : join the conversation as well if you have any knowledge about this type of issue where calibration fry your PC. Thank you for reading & i appreciate your help for answering any questions that are stated here.

cool i was about to edit my thread and ask when was the release. but i went to google after you said that. thanks tho. still i'm pretty curious if 212 EVO has 2.90mm or 2.09mm

idk if anyone started this on linus forum yet. but apparently im shaking today because i took a 1 hour 30minutes travel to a shopping mall to get another half of my stuff. and 1 hour 30 minutes back home. and i noticed that... 212X and 212 EVO wasn't the same. tho i did some research about both of the product. and................... Changes are very weird. Coolermaster 212X Fan Air Pressure : 0. 3 - 2.09 mm H2O ± 10% Fan Life Expectancy : 160,000 hours <- really bothers too, are the information even exactly the same when they test the CPU Fans? Fan Noise Level (dB-A) : 9 - 36 dBA Bearing Type : 4th Generation Bearing Power Consumption : 4.44W (max) Coolermaster 212 EVO Fan Air Pressure : 0.3 – 2.7mm H2O ± 10% Fan Life Expectancy : 40,000 hrs <- this is a huge drop if you compare fan life expectancy with 212X Bearing Type : Long Life Sleeve Bearing <- really bothers me too. is sleeve bearing better or the 4th generation bearing better? Power Consumption : 2.64W Speed & airflow are the same for 212 EVO & 212X ( expect EU Version on 212 EVO ) Fan Speed 600 - 2,000 RPM (PWM) ± 10% Fan Airflow 24.9 - 82.9 CFM ± 10% Additional Information before you post. - This is my first time building a custom build PC and i honestly thinks that fan airflow and such really bothers me because i wanna make my shit last more than 5 years and not overheat after 1 month. Coming to the point of this thread.. the text that are in Red color in that Chart is really bothering me 212 EVO has 2.7mm ( is that 2.07mm or 2.70mm ) 212X has 2.09 mm so what i'm trying to say right now is, do you get more fan airflow when you have higher amount of ( mm ) in air pressure ? or do you get more fan airflow when you have lesser amount air pressure ( mm ) ? (#) Additional Question : i bhought 2 Corsair SP120 PWM Quiet edition. and i was wondering if it's better to replace the fans that is on the 212X heatsink? use a (#) to your answer to answer this question ^ thanks. - also don't forget to leave your rating against 212X / 212 EVO from 1 to 10 i'm too lazy to start a poll. and thank you for reading this thread - feel free to answer the questions even if your not using 212X / 212 EVO so i can learn more from this Fans Spec Source : http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-212-evo/ http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-212x/

[General] budget Motherboard picking
divinebook replied to divinebook's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
hi guys, i appreciate your replies and suggestions but some of you may not notice i am from singapore. so budget are really very tight from the stuff you suggested. @MrBucket101, i appreciate your help making a list of parts i can get from the PC Parts Picker as well @ValuedBuffalo thanks for that bud. it is a good build but yeah over-budget -
try looking at cooler master D92 instead of 212 EVO tho theres no review about D92 from linusTechTips channel yet but there's one if you search on youtube. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-G3258-vs-AMD-FX-6300/2434vs1555 > i3 - 4150 (1150) vs G3258 (1150) = G3258 wins > FX - 6300 vs G3258 = still G3258 over value . everyone has they're own option. but G3258 is cheaper and if its fucked next time you can buy G3258 for a much cheaper cost ( if it even drops )

Hello everyone, as you all may notice this might probably be my first post on Linus Tech tips forum i have been trying to look for helps where someone could suggest which motherboard is best for me. technically, the motherboards that i'm going to list later on are actually some budget motherboard which i can get in "Singapore" and i only have the budget for them. purpose that i'm going to use on is gaming as usual everyone does that. 1 thing you probably might wanna take note before reading the rest of the stuff below ! - Prices from the motherboard are not from Newegg, Amazon, any others popular sites in the US/Canada so i'm going to list out the games i played and maybe a little details as well - due to a guy like me who is suffering from motion sickness, i can't play any others FPS or RPG like dragon nest, and stuff like that. and i don't plan on playing FPS - Shooting ( CS.go , battle field and stuff ) Parts that i have already picked are : Casing : Corsair Spec 001 ----- $90.00 HDD : Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 SATA 6GB/s 500GB HDD 16MB Cache ----- $62.00 Cooling unit : Cooler Master Hyper D92 - CPU Air Cooler ----- $69.00 Ram : Corsair PC3-12800 Vengeance 8GB Kit Black C9 ----- $119.00 PSU : Corsair CX430M Modular 80+ Bronze ----- $79.00 ASUS 24x DVD Writer ---- $24.00 --------------------------------------------------------------- from above listed : $443.00 in total --------------------------------------------------------------- GPU : Have no idea yet. trying to keep my budget to a limit so give me a hit. Motherboard : looking for help with it Budget range : 700 ~ 850 ish. this rig might looks similar to http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/281756-ultimate-value-gaming-build-guide/ but sadly there is no ASUS Z97-C in Singapore retail shops. I apologize if this is the wrong place to post it but i have no idea where else i can find helps rather than linus forum. since im following half of his value gaming build. and heres a list of affordable graphic cards. ( expect sapphire R7-260X ) Rest can be found here : http://pastebin.com/aSZTXY3T- its mini-huge list. i doubt that i need a very expensive GPU just to play those Low-end games. thanks for reading and i hope you could help me with this.
