Yaa I get that a lot haha, you took "Ask me anything" quite  Maybe I have some psychotic relatives from Rook Islands which connect us
There are already far better reviews than what I can write, I just wanted to answer specific questions if anybody has any
for example: both USB C ports have 4 PCIE lanes, the RAM is soldered but comes in 2 modules.

I have a 13.3" QHD+ laptop I use for school. If I could go back in time I would have gotten the 1080p version for better battery life (plus it was matte, I think I only used the touch screen on this laptop a few times when I first got it). Unless you're doing graphical or video editting I don't really think 14-15" laptop will get the most out of a 4K display.

The laptop I had before the Zenbook was a fairly heavy Sony Vaio 15.6" laptop and I have to say, my back/shoulders was so much happier I got a thinner and lighter laptop after a year of carrying that around in my bag (along with books). My next laptop is going to be FHD 14". I find that's the best sweet spot for screen size on a laptop. Smaller laptops are so much better to manage for school IMO. Not only do they take up less desk space, they take up less bag space too. And that's with a protective sleeve/case.

There are still some scaling issues with Windows 10 (not heavily major, but minor annoyances) and not all apps properly adjusted to the Windows scaling. If I were you, I'd go for 1080p as I want the battery to last longer during my usage as well. There are still some laptops with good 1080p screens out there with nice color coverage like Dell XPS 13 and HP Spectre x360 13.3"

IMO if you're doing work that needs a nice display like video editing, get a 4k display as 4k display usually have wider colour range (sRGB, NTSC, Adobe RGB etc)

For uni/college I recommend 13/14 inch thin, light laptops. My 15 inch Y520 is quite heavy to carry around with its charger and now I'm a bit regretting of not getting a lighter laptop, nevertheless I need the performance so it's okay

I am looking for a laptop for college and I LOVE the Surface Book but I have heard of a ton of software and hardware issues that would ruin the experience. Are there any equivalent products that you would recommend? The stylus is very important because I love taking notes by hand, besides the organization part. I also like the GPU I want to be able to play simple games like Overwatch or be able to use Dolphin at high resolutions with Anti-Aliasing etc.

Really?! This thing is completely all aluminium build. The lid, the inside, the bottom, all solid aluminium. What are you 2 expecting? What specifically about the build quality do you not like or think needs improved?

I been waiting several months for the perfect laptop. One with a lot of power, that looks sleek and professional (not gamerish), and that does not break my bank (under $1,500).

A laptop of such qualities was finally invented! The Lenovo Yoga 720 15IKB!!! I was surprised to see no topic on this laptop on here considering it is the first 2 in 1 on the market with a quad core processor. Also the first 2 in 1 on the market with a 10 series NVIDIA graphics card. So this is a ground breaking new laptop for the market.

I purchased this lap top last week and it arrived a few days ago. I love it and have found only very a couple minor things I would change. I purchased the following configuration....

15.6 inch 3840 x 2160 IPS Display (NOT PenTile, but real RGB)
    i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz
    16GB DDR4 RAM at 2133MHz
    512GB PCIe SSD
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with 2GB GDRR5
6 cell 72 watt hour battery
    Dual JBL Dolby Atmos Speakers
    1 Thunderbolt 3 port
    2 USB 3.0 Type-A
    Build Quality is all Aluminium

All that for only $1,499! So no matter how you slice it, there is no other laptop on the market under $1,500 with specs that good, that also looks professional (not gamerish), with good all aluminum build quality. I never was a big Lenovo fan until now, I must say they hit a home run with this laptop.

So I would love to hear everyone else's opinion on this laptop? I know it can be hard to judge completely since there is no reviews of one yet *Cough Linus Cough* But I do plan on posting a review on it sometime with in the next 1 to 2 weeks. So what do you all think?

You can check it out on the US Lenovo website right here

It can act as a USB 3.1 port, which Thunderbolt 2 cannot do. Also it may be able to receive power and charge the laptop through there, if the laptop supports it.

It's limited to 4 lanes of DisplayPort 1.2 (so 4K 60 Hz max) and 20 Gbit/s total throughput instead of 40 Gbit/s. Probably not advisable for external GPUs either.

These days WD Blacks are the only ones that are really loud. They make that rattling noise that was very common in early 2000's. Any drive will be bette than that. My favorite is WD Blue 7200RPM. But noise isn't considered a fault per se and there are differences between individuals too. If you want to make is actually silent, get a Scythe Himuro.

But some are just louder than others. Blues and Seagate Barracudas tend to be a lot quieter than Blacks.

I've had a NH-D15 in a S340 and it fits pretty easily with the fans lowered.
If cost isn't an issue, get a NH-D15 or NH-D15S. Otherwise, the Mugen Max is an alternative that isn't too far behind: http://ksp.co.il/?select=.1066..182..2625..115.&list=1&sort=2&glist=0&uin=25921&txt_search=&buy=&minprice=0&maxprice=0&intersect=&rintersect=

1070 is just fine. If you aren't doing extreme overclocking pick up the 6700k (much more future proof than a 4 core no hyper therading cpu) and a hyper 212x cooler that should be around

Id personally go with the 12s on the s340 due to height clearance, although the 14 would fit (i believe). But super large tower coolers look awkward imo in that case because the top of the case is so "low" compared to other cases

an NHD15s won't fit in the s340, unless you swap BOTH fans for 120mm.

    A NHD14 will however fit.
