  1. Got hooked on ipods thanks to dankpods, found my old 5th gen classic and did a case swap, new higher capacity battery and a 64gb micro SD card to replace the mechanical Toshiba drive. Love this thing! Original battery was getting weak and the front case had spider cracks forming
  2. I picked this combo up back when it first came out, even then I think it was worth it, so at the price now I think you scored. I'm also jealous!
  3. Pictures or it didn't happen! Thats my problem I've got too much stuff that I've been selling and getting rid of especially since prices have gone up on a lot of it. Good time to thin out, some I forgot I even had
  4. She is probably worth some good money now, it is wild how desirable that setup is!
  5. I'll trade you that Pentium 4 for that Q9550, just don't look too close
  6. If you ever change your mind let me know, just cover shipping and I'm good! I got some Phenom x4 and x3 CPUs I used in them before. I will always be a Core 2 fanboy but unlocking cores on the Phenom II series is still the coolest thing ever!
  7. Yeah I am going to need to pick some of those up, such a great idea!
  8. The system that was built in my current case originally was a dual PIII server, thing was a monster. Sold/gave the board to a fellow forum member a long time ago
  9. I've got a few Gigabyte mATX AM3 boards, I'd be willing to let one go if you want one shoot me a PM! Just need an IO shield, would work great in that HP and can overclock it a bit
  10. Literally the one time I decided to not buy the DVD box set for the show I'm watching currently and my subscription membership is going to end before I finish the series. Or I've had it where it gets removed before finishing it
  11. I almost garentee it. It's like how steam looses OS support once the operating system is no longer getting security updates, so unless you happen to have a version installed or go out and get an older version and make it work, you can't run it on say Windows XP anymore even if the game supports it. I've always loved physical media, never been obsessed with it, but recently taken it more seriously. Every show I watch I buy the DVD or BluRay box set vs streaming it. It's a lot harder with software now
  12. For me Core 2 stuff is more than usable for content consumption, internet browsing and even for some Minecraft. My personal rig I only upgraded due to the soal purpose of being bored and since it won't "safely" run Windows 11. I'm really not looking forward to Windows 10 EOL. I hated feeling like I needed to upgrade my motherboard and CPU just due to security reasons and not performance. Now I have a perfectly good x99 CPU/motherboard collecting dust >_<
  13. I actually got lucky and have one of those universal ones from the late 90s since most ATX boards followed a similar IO layout, but this actually might come in handy for some other AM3 boards I have if I can't find some IO shields for them. Thanks!
  14. These socket 423 systems are "fun" mainly because of the power supply situation, everything works great except since I don't have the 1x6 pin connector with the 3.3v and 5v the PCI slots don't seem to function resulting in no sound card or ethernet controller being detected. Guess I might need to hunt down a Pentium 4 power supply!
  15. Finally got the parts I needed to throw the socket 423 board together as a system, brand new CPU cooler from cooler master. The pre-applied thermal paste was still good even for being 23 years old... I still removed it and put some new stuff on.
  16. This thread makes me want to spend money I don't have
  17. Freaking love it! I had one of those power supplies at one point, wish I still had it. Looked so good with the EVGA 780i board I had
  18. What are the specs on this again? I can't find the original post
  19. Very clean car, love the wheel/tire setup. Yeah this is a fun thread, I find myself reading and checking in on it when I hop on but haven't actually posted on here in a long time. It is fun mixing the computer hobby with the car one!
  20. Happy Wednesday everyone, sorry for the lack of updates if you have been following along! Few things that have been done: -Connected Floppy drive, found a floppy cable and was able to get that connected and hopefully test soon -Installed a DVD RW drive on the top bay and got it connected so I can install Vista from a DVD I installed Windows XP but forgot to partition the drives correctly so going to start over and try Vista first and XP second on the secondary partition. It has been forever since I set up a dual boot Windows computer
  21. I love it, I'm curious what the oldest system someone has used to post on the forum or this thread to be more specific
  22. Yeah it's just a few rivets holding it in. Honestly should have done that before I started the build since I don't have the drive sleds for it anyway, plus blocks air flow from the front fan. Next time it comes apart that's exactly what I'm doing!
